Professor (1962)
Wonderful joyful innocent film with breathtaking locations of Darjeeling
Shammi Kapoor is natural self , absolutely charming and effortlessly portraying the young and old both, seamlessly shifting into the old professor get up and romancing with Lalita Pawar. And the young Shammi Kapoor romancing Kalpana especially in Main chali main chali filmed on the Darjeeling Toy Train. It's a window to a bygone era as it gorgeously showcases the Darjeeling Hill Station as it was in 1960's .Music by Shankar Jaikishan is top notch and cinematography by Dwarka Divecha is eye candy.Direction by Lekh Tanon and script by Abrar Alvi make this movie just awesome. It's innocence and fresh tender romance endear it to movie audience forever.
That's Entertainment! (1974)

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011)
nice entertainer
Imran Khan is totally lackluster here,Its strange seeing him like this after Delhi Belly.Ali Zafar is OK with easy smile and shining teeth.Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub somebody said spoke like he is from Meerut .nice little role.Parikshit Sahni is OK here in a different sort of attitude, kind of strange to cast him as an ex-military man.Kanwaljit Singh of 1987 Buniyaad and other nice movies and serials he has given us is again nice and good here with pleasant positive personality.
Katrina Kaif is again brilliant and natural here after "Zindagi na milegi dobara" .Her scooter stint with Imran may remind you of Roman Holiday starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. She is quite like a little girl in some scenes truly enjoying herself seem very spontaneous rather than flat acting.Camera seems to love her.In the starting she may not be as good but as the movie progresses her character too blooms. Her first scene is quite funny where she serves tea to Imran who first stares blankly at her then gets really freaked out and shocked and drops tea on his pants.Film is quite well written not stupid like recent movies.Songs just come and go.
.At PVR Phoenix a strange thing happened like in Harry Potter they had regurgitating toilets.Whole Washroom overflowing.Really weird how did that happen?
Just Go with It (2011)
Lovely Movie
Inspired from Goldie Hawn and Ingrid Bergman starer "Cactus Flower",this is a wonderful entertaining stuff.Jennifer Aniston is lovely in the movie, simple and natural, quite graceful and elegant. She plays the part Ingrid Bergman played in Cactus Flower. Walter Matthau's part going to Adam Sandler and Goldie Hawn's part played by Brooklyn Decker.
Jennifer Aniston role is really well crafted, film is quite well written and keeps you engaged.Nicole Kidman drops in as her high school class-mate in Hawaii when her son blackmails Adam Sandler to take them all to Hawaii.Bailee Madison is wonderful and very funny as Jennifer's daughter who is keen on an acting career and practices all sort of weird accents.Griffin Gluck plays her brother and is involved in strange funny incidents in the movie. Both agree to plays Adam's kids.
Nick Swardson plays Eddie.Really strange guy goes on a dinner with Adam's girlfriend where a Sheep gets sick gives mouth to mouth to Sheep and is able to revive it.Hawaii Locations are really mesmerizing. The Hotel they stay in has great panoramic view.Brooklyn Decker and Jennifer Aniston look absolutely gorgeous in the Swim Scene in Hawaii.Brooklyn reminding of Bo Derek in 10.Lovely family movie to watch over the weekend.
Anjaana Anjaani (2010)
Neal and Nikki (Tanisha,Uday) spin off
I slept through this.Beginning was wonderful very funny and witty.Priyanka Chopra was in good spirits.Ranbeer Kapoor looked like Abhishek Bachchan's younger brother.he is not so good here.
Sidharth Anand directs this foolish script.its as awful as Salaam Namaste was.i don't know why our film makers go to US to shoot every second film.films like 3Idiots which showcase beauty of hill-side around Simla also show that their are breath taking locales here itself which remain untapped.
Direction is horrible, see Priyanka Chopra's ward robe in the film ,its just such a drag really awful.that red dress she wears in the bar make her look like an ethnic behanji.
this movie was so reminiscent of Neal & Nikki which starred Uday Chopra & Tanisha.Frankly that was so fresh this sucks like rotten tomatoes. Can't understand why producers spend such big money on making such awful stuff.Sajid Nadiadwal has ancient film line, could do something for film restoration.Nobody cares about our Indian classics.many films are already lost, most classic film negatives are in shambles.they can do better by investing their money in restoration of Indian classics.Government too does nothing .it does not even award people who work for restoring immortal classics.
Movie like these are a waste of time and money.
That Darn Cat! (1965)
great entertainer
a little black tom cat on a night prowl ,a kidnapped bank cashier puts her watch around his neck.the cat's owner a teenage girl discovers the watch alerts FBI .FBI follow cat around.ultimately it leads to the kidnappers and bank robbers.
Hayley Mills is really good and funny.Dean Jones is much harassed by the girl and her sister and is allergic to cats.he is the one posted at their house.
Roddy McDowell too is funny.
the drive-in scene is quite hilarious.cat trying to steal duck or trying to steal pigeons.dean Jones trying to get cat's paw prints.cat stealing dog's food and hoodwinking FBI agents.listening intelligibly to human conversation as if understanding everything.
this a nice entertainer.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945)
one of the nicest movie ever made
the movie is unavailable in India, its not on amazon.com either nor on many online stores, somehow found it on ebay ,a seller from Korea.
why its not given special treatment when its such a great classic,is a mystery, the movie screams for a commentary track.i hope its released with special features and commentary track.it depicts in detail life and times during first half of 20 th century America.
the movie is crafted well and script is really good its engaging and interesting.it depicts beautifully father daughter relationship.the little brother and sister are really good.
this is Elia Kazan's best movie, better than any other.its shameful how its ignored.
its the story of a young girl whose family is poor, her father is a waiter cum singer with a drinking problem.James Dunn is really great playing the father.his song on piano is really nice."Annie Laurie" and "Molly Malone" are two great songs from the movie.
Dorothy MC guire really shines in her starring role, she moves you like no one,you go on with her on here journey through life ups and downs, good moments and sad moments.her struggles and how she overcomes obstacles.
Joan Blondell and Peggy Ann garner are great too.Lloyd Nolan gives a gentleman performance.
Pyaar Ka Saaya (1991)
romance humor drama
Pyar ka Saaya is inspired from ghost.the plot is quite like the Oscar winning Hollywood movie.though the treatment and a number of hit romantic and some great dance numbers songs by Nadeem Shravan make it quite different.direction and acting is good, song no.s like
1 pyar ka says in two versions 2 Tumse Thoda sa main door hoon, 3 Ek Phool Sa Chehra Hai, 4 Teri Dosti Se, 5 Aaja Aaja Aa Bhi Ja, 6 Tu Chahat Hai
make it great to watch.it has romance, humor and drama.the two heroines Sheeba and Amrita Singh give good performance.Amrita Singh is quite funny in her role.

National Velvet (1944)
a very well written film, for whole family to watch,a beautiful classic
it's a beautiful film.the scenes are well pictured.Anne Revere 's dialogs are really well written and inspiring, the philosophy and thoughts that this film gives and the things it teaches makes it great and wonderful.
Mickey Rooney is great in the movie and his role goes through lot of emotional turmoil as the film progresses.
Elizabeth Taylor looks very pretty, her scenes in the film are inherently poetic, the way camera follows her and the way the music make you feel make every scene of her ethereally beautiful.
this movie has great spirit and a beloved cherished classic.
Angela Lansbury is quite amusing in her role though unrecognizable if you have seen her in role of 'm' in 'the Manchurian Candidate'.
Donald Crisp has done his father's role full justice and the script provides him with ample stuff to justify his role.
its a very nice film and a must watch for family and children an evergreen Christmas favorite.
Jab We Met (2007)
nice movie
characterization is good both Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor are good.SONGS ARE JUST OK.VOICE OF SINGERS Don't SUIT SHAHID.
Kareena is very good in her role of an effervescent Punjabi girl traveling from Mumbai to Bhatinda.who saves Shahid when he is going to commit suicide.
dialogs are well written.most of the film is fresh and appealing though in last it resembles few of past hit romances.overall film is good and watchable especially for young generation.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND Camera-work IS GOOD THE FILM 'S LOCALES ARE PICTURESQUE.
it's a simple film about how two person meet and not knowing get attracted and eventually come to know that they love each other.
28 Weeks Later (2007)
horrible
don't know why such films are made and for whom.this is one of the films i wish i had not seen.most of the audience couldn't stand it and went in mid way.
totally dismal saw it through end which was awful.did not knew it was a sequel. This said, no pun intended for 28 days later - it was an horrible movie - It all starts of with a bang, cools down for a while, everything goes down the sh***Eur, then ends with a bang. Great actors, almost everyone is more or less unknown, to me anyways and they all do a great job! The thing I like best about the movie is that its pretty unpredictable. the girls the boy was good.
Of Human Hearts (1938)
tells of self centeredness of kids and strange behaviors of fathers
i had read a lot about the film and recently got the chance to see it on TCM .BELULAH BONDI is really good and essays the role of a mother to perfection.the father's role is strange and scenes of corporal punishment avoidable.the old custom of giving the beating on the ass seems homosexual and incestuous today.he seems too strict and less practical.the father and son fight is quite interesting.
the son on his part is insensitive and self centered and doesn't care for his mother's feelings which is evident from the scene where he throws away harper's magazines which his mother had subscribed for by selling two silver spoons.while his mother lives in poverty he squanders money on uniforms.
the film is quite good.
Fury (1936)
great film relevant to India too as mob massacre hundreds in its state of Gujarat
i saw it on TCM and was awestruck by it.films script was excellent and everybody gave great performance.it is quite relevant today .i remember during Gujarat riots certain vested interest instigated people to violence.they spread such hatred about other religious community .mob burned down houses with people in it and killed many more.
when related to that this film has great effect on human psyche. the use of motion picture video in court to corroborate evidence too is great according to the time when movie was made.Spencer Tracey is good.the supporting cast excel.this film inspires us not to loose our head to mad violence.
Anokhi Ada (1948)

direction is very good actors are completely unknown but perform well.music is OK.photography is best according to its time.an interesting film to view of long bye gone era.
