The Barrier (2020)
1/10
Low quality TV series
13 May 2021
I watched recently only 2 episodes of the series and I can say that it was too much.

A TV series full of cliche, it's like the script writer mixed in a blender all the stereotypes of Holywood soap operas.

Poor acting, the characters are so fake and seemed like psychopaths, one moment they laugh and the next moment they cry.

Direction is also of very low quality, like the film director copy-pasted all the instructions from the manual ''How to make good films''.

I recommend that you shouldn't watch this series and waste your time.

High Seas (2019–2020)

Cliché, cliché, cliché...

I am not a big fan of TV series and I haven't seen many of them. The main reason I decided to watch ''High seas'' was to practice my spanish, furthermore I chose it because I like noir films. One more time I was highly disappointed from a Netflix series.

Exageration and cliché in acting, plot and film directing.

The characters lack of reality, they are all either naive or mean or both of them. Acting is so poor, when actors are suprised they look at the camera with their eyes wide open just like in cartoons. People feel sad and few minutes later are smiling.

About the photography I can't say that is bad, but it's like the director read about the depth of field just before made the film and thought it would be great to use it almost in every shot.

In a few words, if you like a kind of noir soap opera, perhaps you would be interested on watching it.

The Traitor (2019)

A marvelous movie!

The last film of Marco Bellocchio is the portrayal of Tommaso Buscetta, a former member of Italian mafia who brake ''omerta'' and became an informant. Moreover, through Buscetta's life we can see the Italian mafia history during 60's-80's.

As I was a bit dissapointed from Bellocchio's latest works I didn't expect to see a great movie, but in the end I was amazed both from the direction and the plot line. Some scenes of the movie are a real masterpiece and although it lasts 2,5 hours you don't get tired or bored.

Outstanding acting by Pierfrancesco Favino, he's perfect on his role.
