Spirited (2022)
8/10
Really quite awesome!
26 December 2023
I'm grateful I gave this movie a chance, as a fan of both Reynolds and Ferrell. There is an abundance of singing (in the best way). I enjoyed the storyline, an oldie with a creative twist. The acting was good and I thought the chemistry between Ryan and Will was ideal. This movie was really great, I am a fan of musicals and loved the storytelling of the songs. Spirited exceeded my expectations really - the humor is felt through out and I appreciated the modern day twist of a timeless Christmas classic. I was so impressed with the performances of all characters, the singing and dancing was exciting and I didn't find it to be corny or obnoxious like some reviewers. If you enjoy music and Ryan Reynolds + Will Ferrel's humor, you will love this movie. Happy Holidays!

Barbie (I) (2023)

Exceeded all expectations!
21 July 2023
Barbie was hilarious, emotional and exciting. I LOVED the wardrobe and props - very colorful and exact replicas of what I played with in the 90s. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this movie - casting was perfect. I especially loved the humor and emotional grasp this movie had on the audience in the movie theatre. This is definitely a feel good movie and I hope they continue the franchise. I have to note that this movie had twists and turns at every corner, in good way! There is a lot of action, dancing and surprise ha ha moments. This is perfect for families and adults really; go see it!

The English (2022)
10/10
Emotional, authentic and great
13 December 2022
The English kept me curious and as the story unravels I became more invested and emotional. The acting and storyline are captivating - I felt connected to the main characters journey and struggles. This is truly a story of friendship, compassion and justice. I appreciated the noted truth behind what happened in America during that time. I think the writers did a great job at portraying the hardships and realities as well. I recommend this show to anyone who loves suspense and drama. Chase Spencer was fantastic and Emily Blunt too as always. I loved their story so much it brought me to tears - watch it :)

Symbolic, thrilling & one of Peel's best!
24 July 2022
NOPE like Peel's other films has tons of symbolism front to back. It is beautifully shot and the characters are likeable - Kiki Palmer was fantastic. NOPE is also very creepy and mysterious. The story has a creative take on the everlasting curiosity we as humans have of extraterrestrial life. This film deserves your attention.

Beautiful

There is something beautiful about a silent show. The colors are vivid, calming and captivating. But also..the character and his dinosaur *sheds tear*, what a cute dynamic. The writing is great, this is a must see show!!

Poignant and Brillant !
23 May 2022
Season 2 episode 7...I am overwhelmed with emotions. The 2nd season is different from the 1st but I don't mind. I think a common feeling is forgiving oneself and healing generational / familial trauma. This show is beautiful and an important reminder to be grateful for life, because what a gift.

An honest review
16 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
CMBYN is beautifully filmed I could never deny that. My biggest problem resides with the casting for Oliver - I just didn't believe Armie Hammer. Timothee carries much of the chemistry here. I do agree he looks considerably younger than Armie and 7 years is a large difference between characters (while I understand this is consistent with the book, it's still a problem and is displayed in the youthfulness of Elio's character). In the end I didn't feel the love and passion as much as I wanted to. Stories about the LGBTQA+ community are important and I respect this aspect of the movie greatly - def worth seeing.

The Night Of (2016)

How did I miss this masterpiece?!
14 November 2021
My partner and I LOVE crime/suspense so when we stumbled upon "The Night Of" it was fate. As others have mentioned this show is unique in its moments of suspense and character development. I mean we finished the series in less than 24 hours..we couldn't stop watching. Although it is not a true crime per se, there are countless stories that intersect with the misjudgment / tragedy of this storyline - which only made it seem more real. Rez Ahmed is phenomenal and Turturro and Williams as well. This show captivates its audience and I will remember it forever, I'm sure of it.

Beautifully executed!
22 October 2021
Foremost Dune is perfectly casted - the acting is fantastic. It is also stunning in costume, special FX and CGI. Doing a wonderful job at heightened suspense, we care about the story and characters quickly. After much anticipation, I was not disappointed.

Beautiful, sad and true
8 October 2021
This show does a wonderful job at portraying romantic relationships. The way it is shot allows the audience to truly engage with the emotion here. Outstanding performances by Isaac + Chastain - their chemistry is great on screen. While there is heavy dialogue the show does not drag on by any means. Relationships are nuanced and Scenes From A Marriage is just that; watch it.

Really quite good
10 April 2021
This show gave me Peele & Lovecraft Country Energy. It really creeped me out - there are many nuances and innuendos making for a much deeper meaning. The acting and plot are well done; often depicting undeniable accuracy of racism from this time and the past. I am so glad I stuck with this series and I can't wait for next season - it is supposed to be an anthology.

A sure thing!

I throughly enjoy when characters have you questioning your morals. Ethics plays a large role in this show - The main characters are gripping. The storyline has so many twists + turns and they do it just right. We watched season 1 in >24 hours! This is a must see for anyone who enjoys psycho-thrillers, murder mysteries or good television in general. Yes, it's that good.

Beautifully done!
30 November 2020
Wow! Foremost what beautiful acting and production. Hugh Grant & Nicole Kidman...I really didn't know "who done it" because the storyline was so mysterious and has depth. The Undoing kept me curious, anxious and wanting more. Also their acting son, Noah Jupe was fantastic. This mini series is great for anyone looking for a good murder mystery.

Really quite great!
26 November 2020
I was impressed with this film considering all of the big name actors/actresses in it. The production is strong and beautifully shot. The styling is also great. Kristen Stewart shines in this role. The storyline is heartfelt and entertaining. But also, representation matters & Happiest Season is a movie everyone can relate to, LGBTQ or not.

A problematic story told right
16 November 2020
Yes it's a tale old as time...but it happens more than our society wants to let on. FX does a really great job with the casting, acting & storyline. This show is gripping and entertaining for sure and it is shot beautifully. The shorter show time leaves me wanting more & I'm sure the rest of the audience is (still) conflicted despite how cliche this story is conceptually.

Worth the Watch
5 October 2020
Foremost - HBO has historically been overtly sexual, political & ahead of its time - no surprise, that's what we love about it. This show took a couple of episodes to fully grasp my attention but I'm glad I continued watching. Racial injustice has always been an issue - For those who critique this show based on the prominent & accurate display of prejudice do not provide accurate reviews. As a brown woman I appreciate seeing people of color as lead roles & in a super natural series nonetheless. Love craft Country is original, captivated & important. The acting, writing & storyline are generally good! Give it a watch. 8/10

Intriguing, unsettling & great
18 September 2020
I didn't know what to expect as most Netflix original movies don't impress me - but this movie only got better with time. The acting is solid & the plot lines captivated my attention. Think Stephen King meets Tarantino. There were several instances that disturbed me but I understood the relevance. This movie was thought provoking & unforgettable.

Should have been a Netflix Original
12 September 2020
This movie is watchable - I'm glad I didn't pay to see it in the theatre. Octavia Spencer deserved better but she made for an interesting villain. Conceptually this film is fairly original and I don't regret watching it. I would say it was more disturbing than scary.

ABC Family-esque but good
7 September 2020
I appreciate the story line & Karate Kid fan service but sometimes this show is too cheesy. I understand the format of a teen drama but I could go without some of the poor choice in verbiage & at times what I consider bad acting. However, the whole family will probably enjoy this show; it has many redeeming qualities such as humor, romance & our investment in the main characters. 7.5/10 for me

A gripping and passionate masterpiece
8 July 2020
Salma Hayek gives a captivating performance - I find myself emotionally connected with her as Frida & cry every time I view this film. The fashion is beautifully curated as well as the architecture - wow!! The film Frida is a creative depiction of her beautiful & painful life - leaving you with empathy in your heart & curiosity on your mind 10/10
