Paan Singh Tomar (2012)
Excellent watch - Irfan gives a stellar performance
Watched it in the London Film Festival yesterday. Its a star of a movie. Great tight script, super acting, and great direction. All the actors have done a great job but Irfan is just magnificent- he is turning up as the next Nasruddin Shah
Everyone in the cinema seemed to enjoy the movie and the director got a nice applause in the end.
My worry is that this movie might not get a wide release, specially abroad - I hope UTV does it best to publicise and release it as much as it can.
Well recommended !!!!
1971 (2007)
What a class act - Don't miss this movie
I saw this the 2nd time yesterday night and it impressed me even more than the 1st time. There's not a single fault I could find with this movie and so I had to give it a 10. Usually I never go beyond 8.
Its very hard hitting, engrossing with some very crisp screenplay, direction and super acting from everyone involved. Even the end is so different.
One of Manoj Bajpai's best work - Hats off to you, sir Very surprised the director hasn't done anything since then - Where has he disappeared? Take a bow, everyone who is involved with this movie - Its a masterpiece.
Do yourself a favour and get a DVD of this movie with some popcorn - You will NOT regret it for a minute
Main, Meri Patni... Aur Woh! (2005)
Hidden Gem
One of those movies which don't get released here in London or in US and so many NRI movie buffs don't get a chance to see it.
Well-made, Great Acting and a Good Story - Watch it on Original DVD if you get a chance, Only then will small movies like these will be made time and again.
Both the lead actors , Rajpal and Rituparna have given a wonderful performance which makes everything believable.
If you enjoyed 70s and 80s Amol Palekar and Farookh Sheikh movies, you will love this movie too - Its a similar genre. Low on budget, High on creativity.
My Congratulations and Best Wishes to everyone who was involved in this movie.
Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006)
Worth a watch
Lage Raho Munnabhai gives you what you expect from the movie - It does what it says on the can. Its more of the same, just another serving. So if you enjoyed the first one and want a similar experience, go watch it - You wont be disappointed. The script goes a bit awry towards the end but the screenplay is good. As can be expected, the chemistry between Sanju and Arshad is tremendous and keeps the audience smiling, laughing all 3 hrs, almost. If the movie becomes a super-hit, which I can see happening, expect this pair to go down in Bollywood history books. Full marks to whoever wrote the dialogues, jokes, one-liners for Arshad and to Arshad himself for the class comic act. I have been warned not to watch "Anthony Kaun Hain" but after this performance, Golmaal and Salaam Namaste, its hard to resist going for a cheap rental DVD.
