One of the best shows of the last years, full of drama and unpredictable events
1 June 2023
I must say that I have really enjoyed the first two seasons of this TV show.

This is the first TV show made by Gabriele Muccino and the 16 episodes (8 + 8) allow him to dig down into the personality and the complexity of the main characters in a way that makes this a big selling point of this show.

Once the plot starts to unveil and you get familiar with the main characters, you will see how deep will be your journey into their souls, their internal conflicts and eventually their life full of drama (despite being a very rich family).

There is so much drama in each of their life that sometimes it feels like you are going to lose faith in humanity but, on the other hand, you get glued to the screen to watch till what point they can push themselves to further destroy their life.

Hate, love, rage, desperation, passion, jealousy, betrayal and obsession all combine together and deliver a real emotion-intense show with a lot of unexpected events that will never let you relax.

I really hope this TV show will reach an international audience and will get recognized as one of the best product of 2022/23.

Gomorrah (2014–2021)

Not just a TV series but rather a mythologic tale around crime and its price
3 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Together with Breaking Bad this is one of the most incredible TV series I ever watched in my life.

It has the ability to capture your attention and intrigue you with the plot since the very beginning.

The photography, the dialogues, the characters and the soundtrack , everything looks so genuine and authentic, far away from being the imitation of something already seen on TV.

The actors were almost unknown (not big names I mean) but they were fitting into their characters like they were born just to play that role.

I also loved the soundtrack, once again very original and composed by an almost unknown band (Mokadelic): Gomorrah wouldn't be the same without that soundtrack and its haunted rythms.

Last season was a little bit under par vs the the previous ones, but overall this is and will remain a masterpiece for many years to come.

Last, but most relevant, the morale around the entire TV series is very powerful: you can be a criminal and have your moments of glory but living a life like that will claim a huge price sooner or later and you will eventually pay the full price of your choices.

Masterpiece.

A near perfect TV show!
3 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I loved every single minute of this amazing top quality TV show and not only because of the great interpretation of Steve Buscemi (which was kind of a given) but for the many characters I felt in love with along the way.

Richard (sensitive and inesorable at the same time), Dr Narcisse (super fascinating and cruel), Nelson (from man of law to outlaw), Gillian (the sweetest monster that you can imagine), just to cite the most relevant ones.

I was just a little bit disappointed by season 5 as I do believe that it was too stretched and difficult to follow with all these frequent flashback, but I really liked the young version of Nucky.

The death of Richard was one of the most touching I have ever seen on screen, simply unforgettable!

When I watched the last episode, then I was quite sad acknoledging that the show was over...

Overall one of the best TV series ever made, by the way!

Great atmosphere, great way to translate the book into an enjoyable, well done series
27 December 2022
Having read and loved the magnificent book from where this adaptation comes from, I can say that not only this show reflects the spirit of the book and the description of its main characters but it gave me the same pleasure I had reading the book itself.

When you progress through the episodes and you meet the various characters for the first time you say "ah yes, this is Prabu of course!" because he looks exactly like you figured out already while reading the book.

Same with many other like Lin, Didier, Kavita, Karla, etc.

The slow-paced and charming atmosphere you were accustomed is depicted as well in a very accurate way.

So far, one of the best adaptations I have ever seen!

Congrats to Apple (I cannot really say the same about Foundation, but that's another story)!

Only watched the first 20 minutes of Season 2, then stopped
27 December 2022
While the first season was pretty intriguing and enjoyable, I was shocked when I started watching Season 2: the graphic effects applied to the landscape are incredibly pathetic, something my son could possibly do better with his laptop.

Some of the new characters look like coming from low budget sci-fi movies, actually the show itself looks like has lost its original purpose to become a very low quality work.

I cannot figure out how on earth Ridley Scott could possibly associate his name with this poor production.

So incredibly disappointed! Don't even give it a try!

It takes only 20 minutes to understand why this TV show was canceled.

I have really enjoyed it (and I come from there)!
18 June 2021
Coming from a place which is very close to Cinque Terre (where the imaginary Porto Rosso is meant to be part of) I watched the movie with a lot of expectations: well I must say that I have really enjoyed it: the story is nice, the main characters are enjoyable and both the location and the scenery have been well described (assuming we are talking about the '60s).

The soundtrack in the Italian version of the movie was very nice as well.

Well done Pixar!

Nice but too much inspiration from "Big times at the El Royale"
3 August 2020
Overall I have enjoyed this spin off and the development of the relationship between Maca and Zulema especially. However I found out that the authors took way too much inspiration from "Big times at El Royale".

At some point in time it sounded like they just took the overall idea behind the movie written and directed by Drew Goddard in 2018 and used it to develop their fifth season.

Really liked it despite I'm not a big fan of Lady Gaga
18 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
What a surprise this movie! Being not a fan of Lady Gaga my expectation was pretty low but after having watched it I must admit that i have really enjoyed it, especially the interpretation and the personal touch of the two protagonists.

Bradley as singer was a complete surprise and Lady Gaga as actress was really credible as well.

I believe I'm gonna watch it again!
