The Cleaning Lady: Know Thy Enemy (2024)
Season 3, Episode 8
5/10
Getting old quickly
1 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I was really enjoying this show till season 3. The beginning was confusing and didnt seem to make any sense. Now that we are coming in close to half way thru the season it just seems to be getting worse.

At this point I just want to see a decent end where Tony and Fi get away and start a whole new life

I dont see any problem with the production or acting quality but rhe storyline at this point is down right ridiculous and the character's attempt to stay relevant while saying she wants to be done and wants to protect her family, mean nothing. Her character has no place in the story at this point and seems to be doing all she can to place herself back in the middle.

I get this feeling that The character Jorge (Cartel Boss Ramona's brother) will become the new Arman to the Tony character in an effort to bring her back into the fold and keep the series running. Ramona will be ousted or off'd and Tony will become cleaning lady to the Cartel and will have Jorge's ear on all things that matter to her.

Or maybe not. I could be 100% wrong but honestly I dont know if I will stick around to find out. I didnt know Adan Canto was sick and passed away, which is truly sad, so it makes sense why season 3 was upended in the way it was but the story plot they smacked together seems disheveled at best and uninteresting. I hope this episode is the low point and series going forward can make something good going forward but if they cant and they continue on this path of mediocre uninteresting story then im out.

Fallout (2024– )

Good entertainment. Mediocre everything else
23 April 2024
I have played most of the fallout games and really like the series. When I first heard about this I wasn't too sure how to feel about it. The film industry is famous for not keeping true to the source material or inserting their own agenda into the films.

With that being said, I found the show to be better than expected but there are some areas I found lacking.

Quality on production is great. However, there are several scenes throught the season where the film locations look just like other locations in different episodes. Also, many of the scenes make the wasteland feel small in comparison to the open world game.

I also felt like the dialogue was weak in areas. Another annoyance was seeing characters both background and main characters both make terrible choices. Choices that are so bad they would have to intentionally make the bad choice because doing anything else would have been better. I dont want to give any spoilers but you will notice when you watch if you havent already

It seems like several scenes that occurred only did so to drive story which didnt feel needed as the story was simple and straight forward

Overall if your a fan of the series or post apocalyptic genre fan or just looking for something light you may get enjoyment out of it. If your looking for a series more engaging with a better script and sensibility then you may want to look elsewhere.

An entertaining series thus far
20 April 2024
I will start this off by saying this movie has its issues and agree with some calling for Snyder to stop with the excessive use of slow motion

Some additional issues I had is plotholes in the story and the lack of elaboration on some story elements. Some of the character development and dialogue was also pretty weak.

Overall though I found this movie to be entertaining. Yes the first half of the movie is slow and does a lot of recapping from the first movie but I didnt see that as a bad thing. The battle was long and looked visually nice.

The lack of a conclusion was honestly my biggest gripe with this film. After 2 movies with no 3rd movie approved they left a massive cliffhanger. I am guessing they did this intentionally hoping there would be enough of an outcry of support for the studio to green light another one.

This is one of the main reasons I dont watch tv shows anymore as they constantly are cancelled and never finish telling the story. I wish studios would stop with this nonsense and just tell the whole story or don't bother at all. I find myself getting less interested in films overall as time moves on. If no one is going to tell a complete story then I don't want to waste my time and money on any of it.

I do hope there is a 3rd movie to finish off the story but based on a lot of the reviews and the amount dislike of the movie I have seen, I would wager it wont happen.

A great show that was of course cancelled
12 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
About 6 years ago I cancelled every streaming service I was subscribed too as I was tired of getting engrossed into a new series only ro have it cancelled with no proper ending. There also seemed to be a lot of films that wanted to focus on pushing a specific narrative instead of delivering a great story with likeable characters.

I have a neighbor that I hang out with regularly that talked me into checking out this show with him. I looked into after he showed me a trailer. I didnt want to as I saw the show was cancelled but from all the user reviews I got the impression it at least ended with some closure.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case and the series ends off with more questions then answers. This film is the perfect example as to why I don't get involved in film series anymore.

The story was good the acting was well done and production quality looked top notch. The action scenes were great in the beginning but around middle of second season kind of fell off as everybody could all the sudden do flying / floating kicks and punches and jump 2 story buildings which is why my rating isnt higher. I would like to recommend people watch this but without a proper ending it seems like a waste of time. We will never know what happened to sunny or his kid or tilda or Nathaniel. I see a lot of talk that people are trying to get season 4 to happen but at this point I dont see it with 5 years having passed. Even if they did I would guess they would do the same thing an leave off season 4 with more questions and a possible no return for a following season.

Ill stick to my DVD / Bluray collection of shows I know were great and actually had conclusions and answers. Its not like I watch film that often now a days but when I do I would like it to actually have an ending.

A series about girl power
26 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I tend not to watch newer tv shows or movies as they all seem to push a narrative and focus more on that then the actual story of the show. Reading multiple raving reviews for the show and seeing a star studded cast, I figured I would give it a try. What a mistake

The show started off ok with a bit of mystery surrounding this island the main character Helena somehow got to but doesn't remember anything leading up to her arrival. Flashbacks paint a picture of her being a well educated yet nervous paleontologist.

She runs into a gentlemen from an era that is in her past, a soldier from WWII. He is quickly killed and then everything goes downhill from there. The series going forward, at least up till episode 4 as I could not watch anymore, seems to be all about power women!

The main character quickly becomes a very capable strong women who saves a village of people by reflecting light at a dinosaur. Yes, that is correct. Over the next couple episodes we learn the main character is such a strong women that she was married (I think) to another powerful women who was some kind of soldier. She dont need no man!

As each episode passes we are introduced to a new strong women who are more capable than any man seen in the series except for one (maybe). The main character continues to save people left and right and eventually gets to a camp that is run by......you guessed it, a strong powerful woman.

I have never had an issue with a strong female lead or characters. Films like terminator or aliens are amongst my favorites as well as tv series like queen of the south. But this is blatant "female power" pushing nonsense. As I am writing this it also comes to my attention that all the main "good" characters are not white where as almost every "bad" guy is white. The only other white charactera seen are from the very beginning, he died off very quickly and amongst the slaves

Though the quality of the animation is great the story is really slow to develop and powerful female boss babes seems to be the main directive of this series. It got so ridiculous it and in your face I myself could not complete the first season. I love animated films and series. Another great example of women leads is Arcane which is a phenomenal animated series. There is a right way and a wrong way to create strong female characters in film and this series did it the wrong way in my opinion but that's all this review is, my opinion.

By far the worst movie in the series
24 March 2024
This was by far the worst of the resident evil movies in the series. I am not claiming any of the movies were amazing but they were definitely more enjoyable and more watchable than this steaming pile of dung.

The movie starts off after the supposed last battle at the white house and the only believed survivor is Alice (no surprise). Right off the bat the first couple of scenes layout how the rest of the movie will go. I should have turned it off right then and there but after watching the rest of the series over the last week I wanted to see this movie series come to a conclusion

I spent the 2nd half of the movie taking care of laundry and cooking a meal as I was so uninterested at this point that all I really cared about was the end result of watching all these movies

I was hoping for a good ending and got stiffed there as well. So many scenes in this movie made no sense. I felt zero connections to the characters and half way thru the movie I started rooting for the bad guys as the good guys were just so unlikable an they made the worst decisions somebody could possibly make at every step of the journey. Since there is a main plot carried from the first movie to the last movie I would recommend avoiding this series altogether. Even as a big fan of the video games I could never recommend this to another fan or anybody who would considering them.

Expecting a kid movie but got a fun filled family friendly movie instead
12 November 2023
I know of the Dora series but have bever seen any of the animated series and probably never will but this live action version was great fun!

The movie is clean, contains some humor and is a lot of fun. The characters seem like your typical highscoolers minus Dora as she was raised in the Jungle.

The sets and scenes were nicely puy together. The story was decent and the acting was pretty good. This is a movie you can watch with the whole family regardless of age.

Not understanding the Dora series wasnt a drawback either as this movie breaks down who Dora is and what she is all about. If your a fan of family adventure movies then this is the one for you. I honestly would have enjoyed a sequel or another outing with Dora but because it came out so long ago the actress who played Dora wouldnt fit the role anymore and a replacement would probably make the outing feel off

All in all it was a great ride and I am glad I gave it a chance and I think anyone who enjoys films of the genre will too.

Back in the 90s and early 2000s family adventures seemed to be a well represented genre and many of them were quite good but unfortunately it doesnt seem like many of these types are made anymore. Instead we are pummeled with movies that tell you how to think or how to feel. If not then its remakes of older films that are considered classica.

In closing I would again recommend those just looking for a light adventurous good time or those with young kids looking for a good family oriented movie, to check this out.

Blue Beetle (2023)
2/10
Had potential
29 October 2023
Blue beetle being a lesser known hero of the DCU, had a chance at being a good movie. Unfortunately it doesnt live up to the hype and in several cases in sinks to much lower levels than expected.

Not sure if its because of the times or what but I have lived ina heavily populated mexican area in SoCal for the last 20 years and most mexicans dont have a bad taste for America. Many are greatful for the opportunities and the life they have been able to build since moving here. Yet this movie portrays a dislike for the country and I have to believe its jumping on the train of "America bad to foriegners" narrative. Its sad to see as I Know a great deal of people who are fron outside this country that have real love and respect for what this nation represents

If its not the several disses towards the nation its the obnoxious sister that really drags down this movie. I also dont understand why all the superhero movies make the main character a clueless genius. Almost ever superhero movie in recent memory stars with a completely clueless character who at the same time is a genius and also has this witty side to them so they always have some quick comrback leaning on the comedic side. Most of it wasn't funny as is with most superhero movies.

I could have predicted how this movie would play out which means I could have watched it in my heard rather than buying a ticket to see it. I honestly just want the superhero films to stop at this point. The industry has been over saturated with these films and they all just appear to be carbon copies of each other.

Ted Lasso: So Long, Farewell (2023)
Season 3, Episode 12
10/10
As others have said
23 September 2023
This last episode was icing on the cake to a phenomenal series! I wasn't too excited coming into the last season after hearing a lot of bad things about it but I honestly I really enjoyed it and didn't see any of the "problems". I am sad to see it go as it was only the 3 seasons but prefer an early exit rather than a series that lasts so long it gets boring an uninteresting.

This last season gave a great send off to most of the main characters which was nice to see. Most series even when ending on schedule, leave cliffhangers for most of the cast. I also like how the series remained in form throughout the entire series and never tried to change itself. Great series for anyone looking for a light sports based comedy.

The Flash (I) (2023)
2/10
And the award for best character in this film goes to....
22 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I went into this movie with low expectations after seeing all the initial reviews after release. I found some of the reviews unbelievable based the on the fact WB was putting fourth a lot of money to make this film. I am sad to say that the initial reviews were spot on

The story was weak and filled with a ton of plot holes and things that didn't add up. There were times things should have been explained in more detail or where the story should have been expanded upon but all those opportunities were passed by in favor of poor attempts at comical relief and poorly rendered CGI fight scenes

I dont believe the studios excuse about the CGI being meant to look poor. The studio why over-hyped this steaming pile of dung and I think that is why most people are upset. Had it just been released without all the over-hyping most people would have just been like meh its an average movie, nothing special.

Ezra's version of the flash is an insufferable clown that gives the superhero a bad name. I wanted to walk away after watching the first 10 minutes of this film. The hospital scene were he is saving all the babies was easily one of the worst scenes in film I have ever seen.

The return of Keaton as Batman was a welcomed cameo but even he couldn't save this film from becoming a dumpster fire. The return of Gal Gadot aa Wonder Woman was also a nice surprise. Supergirl was a nice addition and I wouldn't mind seeing a stand alone film with that actress playing supergirl. I think should did a good job for the most part but again the CGI for her body / costume was absolutely terrible

The film was very slow and at times hard to look at with such poor CGI. You could almost imagine at times this was some kind of first year student's film project for school. A lot of the comedic lines were not funny an several of them were really bad. If I am being honest I have seen some B rate scifi films that are better than this movie. I would rather rewatch some of those then to ever feast my eyes on this trash salad again

All in all I kept sitting there hoping the film was almost done. My thought that at some point it would get better vanished after the initial Keaton scene. It kept getting worse from there. At times I was kind of hoping Barry would get taken out by Zod so the movie would be over but I wasnt that lucky.

I found most of the characters lacking any depth. Putting the Iris west character in this movie seemed completely pointless even though she is a key chaeacter to the series, her role literally served no purpose. Out of all the characters on ecrene the only one I cared for and I would give an award to is Jason Momoa's Aquaman even though he had the shortest screen time of any of them (except maybe wonder woman) and his scene was after the credit roll.

This is hands down one of the worst films I have ever seen. My suggestion is if you do plan to watch this then maybe play it when you literally have nothing else to do or if you are trying to take a nap or if you just need something playing in the background that you can kind of watch here an there while doing other things.

Barry: ronny/lily (2019)
Season 2, Episode 5
1/10
Terrible episode
4 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure how so many people thought this was an amazing episode. The fight scene between ronny and barry was beyond ridiculous an then they top it off with the daughter also beating the crap out of him. Ronny also called the cops and they must have heard the struggle / fighting on the phone yet no cops show up at any point in time.

To make it even more ridiculous barry doesn't retrieve the knife that the little girl stabbed him with which could tie him to the murder. He then walks out of the house exposing his bleeding face and back to all the neighbors and some people on the sidewalk

Then they drive to a store an park right up front by the curb next to the entrance and puts the hazards on. Doing this would be like putting a bullseye on your back. People walking by would more than likely say something or call the cops once they saw barry bleeding all over the place

Then the cop who blackmailed barry to do the job calls and asks if he did it and barry hang's up on him. You would think he would tell him yes so cop doesn't get upset and turn him in.

Its like every decision barry has to make he literally makes the worst choice possible like he is trying to get caught but of course he doesnt or it would be the end of the show.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the show up to this episode but I considered not finishing the episode and walking away from the series. I still might depending on how the season finishes up. This honestly didn't even feel like I was watching Barry it felt like I was watching a different show with a complete moron as the lead.

Obviously most of the people who saw this episode would strongly disagree with me but I can't imagine I am the only one who thought this episode was ridiculous.

Green Lantern (2011)

Sad Ryan Reynolds regrets this role
31 December 2022
It's a shame Ryan Reynolds really regretted playing green lantern. I like many others, truly enjoyed this movie. I understand some of the gripes like lack of character depth, but had they spent more time on that they would have had to make the movie longer or cut out other things. The movie already stood at almost 2 hours long.

I thought this was a fairly decent introduction of the character and was really looking forward to a 2nd installment which eventually never happened.

I would really like to see him and his wife come back for a 2nd movie if at the very least to finish the story they started here. With Ryan Reynolds super stardom it could really help propel this franchise forward. Wont hold my breath but will never stop hoping for a sequel. Since WB is basically wiping the DC slate clean and starting over with the franchise I doubt Ryan would even be able to get a green light for sequel from the new heads

If your looking for a light comedy family friendly super hero movie I would definitely recommend.

Another victim of disney
9 October 2022
The netflix marvel series were all awesome! Especially when comparing it to the trash disney is pushing out in the name of Marvel. Disney shut down these netflix series so they could take the characters an mash them up in their hot garbage. Such a shame. This is easily one of the best marvel series to be released to date. I have watched luke cage, dare devil and the punisher from Netflix several times over. The iron fist an jessica jones were alright and Ive watched both series but those characters didn't seem to pop like the these did. Even the defenders was a pretty decent outing. I wish netflix could have kept these series going kind of like how Sony has managed to maintain the reigns on the Spider-Man universe until 2050 or something like that.

Solid
24 September 2022
This is one of the better Action flicks that have been released recently in my opinion. The film is pretty well paced an there plenty of action. I wouldn't say it does well enough to seperate it from any other action movie but the action scenes were well choreographed an where of better production quality then others around.

The story was a simple SAR mission gone south so it was pretty generic in that respect but at least there werent any odd side stories or agendas shoved in.

I think all the acting was great and overall production value was great! It your looking for a simple sit back entertaining action flick then this is the movie for you.

A mixed bag
22 June 2022
I was recommended this show by a friend and figured I would give it a go based on what he said. The beginning was kind of strange and uninteresting. As the season progressed it got a little more interesting but by the end of the season I started to lose interest. The last couple episodes had plenty of action but its like all the writers took the episodes off and almost every other word is an F bomb. That and the constant dumb actions taken by anya / jenny just kind of killed the whole vibe of the show. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as it is a forgettable average show that had some interesting concepts but poor execution.

Nope
15 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was really bad. I almost turned it off at several points and regret that I didn't

The main character Dani was not a strong character at all. The weird clips into the future make her look like a teenager leading a small group of people. She didn't seem or act like a leader and there is nothing at any point in the film that indicates why or how she even became a leader. Here is this sweet innocent young woman we meet at the beginning of the movie and she not only survives the apocalypse been then leads it with her.........i dont know, good looks?

Even more cringe was when they were trying to teach her how to fire guns and she wasnt even close. Then she gets handed a shot gun and told the terminator killed her family and then she takes 2 or 3 shots and hits every target at about 15 meters. Then training is over and she is ready to be the new savior of the resistance!

Just absolutel ridiculousness from beginning to end. As a fan of terminator I gave it a shot and really regret it. Do yourself a favor and skip it. It will destroy any fond memories you had of the series.

Warning: Spoilers
I was truly enjoying this series till the latest episode came out (episode 4). At the end of episode 3 it shows Will the priest has feelings for Cora. Episode 4 picks up with the atmosphere feeling weird and awkward. Every time Cora steps into sight, Will's jaw drops to the floor and he begans to drool while eye banging her while the wife stands next time him watching him do it. Not sure if I will continue. The show doesnt seem to be what I thought it was.

Milking it
10 May 2022
For anyone who has been watching dragon ball since its inception you would know that the Broly story has already been done and Goku / Vegeta have already fought him durring the Z era. Reintroducing Broly as someone the Z fighters don't know is kind of weird and doesn't make much sense.

Lets all be honest, Dragon Ball Z was pretty much the last good series from the dragon ball universe. GT felt rushed and more like a cash in on the popularity attempt more than anything. Everything after that was near unwatchable. I thought maybe this was going to be a remade version of the two Broly movies from the 90s into a single movie with enhanced art and was disappointed when I realized it wasnt. The only reason I gave this a shot was due to the highly rated reviews. Now that I have reread then I think most are fake. Many use the same phrase "best dbz movie ever" yet this isn't in the DBZ era. So either these people are bots or they dont know anything about the dragon ball series.

When the saiyans first turned into SSJ in the Z series it was awesome! Here comes a legendary warrior not seen in the galaxy for thousands of years. Then another SSJ and another until it became common place and it kind of dumbed down the whole idea. Especially after they kept exceeding the level until they reached some type of God SSJ and even exceeded that.

It seems as if the series is going to keep radically changing their hair color calling it a new plateau with more power but it honestly doesnt feel like more, just something different and uninteresting more than anything

At least their keeping up with the rest of the film industry, constantly remaking or cashing in on top name franchises with mediocre to garbage film releases. I couldnt even finish this movie. There is honestly little to no story except in the first couple minutes but it never seemed to proceed. The animations were ok but nothing to write home about. Frieza sounds different and Bulma sounds different and neither in a good way. Also the fusion nonsense towads the end (when I turned it off) was all nonsense. First vegeta acts like he has no idea what fusion is or like he has ever seen the dance and then they go on to fail the fusion dance literally making the same exact mistakes trunks ans goten did during the cell saga resulting in a fat and then an ultra skinny fighter that were both useless. The level of unoriginality made my brain hurt

If you are a true fan of the series, do yourself a favor and stay away from this mess and watch some of the original dragon ball and dbz series tv shows an movies.

A great series
14 April 2022
I wasnt sure what exactly I was getting into when I first started watching this but I can say now that I am hooked!

The story is easy to follow. The characters are likable. There is some comedy. The stories are based on real life issues and struggles.

So far the production quality has been top notch and the cast has all done a beautiful job. I cant wait for new episodes. It seems like all my favorite shows are k-dramas these days. Hellbound, sijipeuseu: the myth, dark hole, the devil judge, etc

If your looking for something new then I would recommend giving this a go.

I honestly don't understand the hate
7 April 2022
Going into this movie I expected very little. I only took the chance because I am a huge sci-fi fan and I actually enjoy a lot of B rate films of the genre.

I understand the material has been used before an that the acting was meh, terrible in some regards, but honestly with all that being said I still enjoyed the film as a whole

CGI was fairly decent. Creature wasn't shown until 2nd half of the film which left some mystery about the creature and made it more interesting to watch. Unlike other horror / sci-fi / survival films that give you a good glimpse of the creature / alien / entity at almost the very beginning

I would say if your a fan of the genre you may actually enjoy it. One of the best parts of this film was it was free of any political or woke nonsense. It was pure entertainment that wasnt trying to force any agenda on the viewer. Arguably you could say climate change but climate change has been happening on the planet since its beginning

Worst case you dont like the film and you turn it off or you watch the whole thing and regret it after. Its not like big budget films havent suffered the same. Especially of late.

A fun adventure
29 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Most of the reviews I have seen that gave the show a lower score had made mention about poor dubbing. I watched in its original language so I can't speak towards the quality of that. I never watch shows dubbed as I find them unappealing in the same way a video with an audio sync issue is unappealing.

When I first came across this series I had heard nothing at all about it but figured I would give it a go as I am a fan of these types of films

The series starts off with an introduction to a group of 4 friends, 2 of them are brothers. When one of the friends has an upcoming birthday they all decide to get together and celebrate later at night at an abandoned bunker. As they are celebrating their is an electrical disturbance and 2 of the kids vanish and older gentlemen appears out of nowhere.

Everyone gets confused by this newcomer and the disappearance of the friends. We then learn more as the story progresses about these kids lives including their home life and relationships within the group

Long story short we find that one of the children's mother works for a research facility running tests on a machine that can manipulate time and space. The crew then works towards figuring out how it affected reality and what damages it caused in order to set things right

Overall I think all the actors did a great job portraying their characters as well as their interactions with each other

Is this the best film or some of the best acting ever known to man? No it isn't, but that doesn't make it a bad series.

The series is an adventure geared towards younger audiences but as an adult in my 30s I truly enjoyed this and anyone who likes a solid adventure would probably too. Again, this is a light hearted adventure geared towards a younger audience so if your into more serious films then this probably wont be the film for you.
