Kill Tony (2013)
Best thing not on TV
I bought tickets to see Joe Rogan live and on checking his supporting acts, I watched sets by Tony Hinchcliffe and Hans Kim online. I really liked both and Tony stole the live show - he was better than Rogan. I then started getting clips suggested of his show, Kill Tony, and the first few were awful. However, I started watching compilations of people I liked like Hans Kim, then regular David Lucas and got sucked in - I've now watched every episode in Texas and love this show. It's not for everyone, but the spontaneous drum offs, couples comedy or strippers on stage has left me laughing out loud at the screen many times. There are a lot of cringe moments and you will fast forward through people you don't like, but this show even drew my partner's interest who has a love / hate relationship with it. There is comedic gold to be enjoyed that has had her laughing as well but some of it has made her leave the room. And she made it through a Jim Jeffries live show!
Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019)
Ignored for long time - don't!
I really didn't expect to enjoy this, but I was bored and it was suggested on Netflix. One of the best animes I've seen since Attack on Titan. There is normally always a complaint of some sort for any anime, but I have none - it's a great story, well made with good action. One of the demons early on in season 1 reminds me of the Ratking from The Last of Us part 2. If that means something to you, then stop reading and go watch this!
Jim Jefferies: Intolerant (2020)
Live was better
I saw him perform this routine live in Birmingham in Dec 2019. It was better, and had extra jokes which appear to have been cut out, notably his Michael Jackson routine, which was the best bit! Legalities maybe? The special suffers for it, as it will be remembered as one of his weakest in comparison to his other releases, which is a shame, as his crowd work was great live. It just doesn't seem to have captured the magic from the night.
