An excellent movie about friendship
5 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this movie and it is very true to the Newberry winning children's book. The book was inspired by a true event in the authors life. Her son lost a close friend (also a little girl) to a freak accident (in real a lightening strike). The book has a dedication to her son and his friend. This film is about friendship, the awkwardness of being a preteen and finally about loss and coping with loss. If you are seeing it expecting to experience a fantasy film such as Narnia or LOTR you will be disappointed. The acting is very well done especially by Annasophia Robb as Leslie. The movie follows the book in content very well and places just the right amount of time to Terabithia. I found it to be very true to life in regard to relationships and especially in the internal suffering and sense of guilt that Jess feels about Leslie death. A tear-jerker to be sure but a film well worth your time. I feel that children can really benefit from seeing this film but be prepared to talk about loss with them. Read the book and see the movie.

Romanitic comedy with the beautiful Audrey Hepburn
7 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely love this movie. The chemistry between Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck is magnetic. You can tell they truly enjoyed each other. Audrey was quoted as saying for her first major motion picture Gregory Peck was the perfect choice due to his genuine warmth of character. In fact, Peck insisted that Audrey name be placed next to his because to do otherwise would be "silly" (this was her first major role). My favorite scene, though a sad one, is the ending where the love they have for one another is seen in their faces as they both know they can never be together. Just a fantastic movie both light hearted, funny and a unique love story all in one film. Any fan of Audery can't miss her Oscar winning performance in this film. She truly was one of the most beautiful actresses of all time and a remarkable human being.
