Brings to life that era
20 July 2021
It's funny isn't it how Mad Men gets lots of fans and seasons because its full of womanising and boom boom shabang, but American Woman, with its quiet poise and depiction of how things were for women in America decades ago, doesn't make the distance. I guess people just don't want to see womens stories from this era unles theyre the wives and play things of powerful men? Mens stories are probably able to grab audiences because it shows men doing what people love to see them doing, womanising, being cut throat in business etc?

Womens stories of this time are relevant too. This story is a story which deserves to be told.

Such a shame this show was cancelled. It was trying to tell an untold story in a sweet way, and now we'll never get to see the characters develop.

Great story and I loved the twist at the end - I wasn't expecting it at all, just made it all the better.

I had to watch this
30 August 2019
After reading all the good reviews, I decided it was time for me to catch up with this old film that so many people rate highly. Whilst it won't be making it in to my top 10 films of all time, I can see why people like it. The story flows well, it's quite grissly in places with a couple of twists. I enjoyed watching it.

It's not bad

This is a sweet film about love and relationships. I loved seeing these stars so young - does Cher ever age? There are a couple of parts that don't seem to quite fit for me, but overall it's not too bad a bad film. OK for a Sunday afternoon watch.

Back in the day

I love watching these old films with big stars before they were famous. This story focuses on a cool headed male gigolo, and how he slowly unravels after finding out someone is trying to frame him for murder. The film is cheesey and unrealistic in a couple of parts, where the directors have tried to make it seem edgy this hasn't come across well, but it was still for a Sunday afternoon watch.

What a strange film!
30 August 2019
The film is done in black and white with a film noir kind of feel to it, and takes place inside an apartment, for the entirety of the film. The plot focuses on a telephone insurance salesman on a particular day in his life - which it seems his life has been building to for some time. The film is quirky and there are a couple of genuine laugh out loud/wtf moments. If you like quirky films it's worth a watch.
