Cannon (1971–1976)
Cannon & The Streets of San Francisco: Top Crime TV Series of 1970's
17 September 2001
I agree with my previous speakers. CANNON is one of the best crime series of the 1970's, and definitely one of the best ever made. Watching the re-runs of CANNON is always a pleasure. The screenplay writers cared for a good plot, the directors did an excellent job as well. And, of course, a greatly performing William Conrad brought Frank Cannon to real life. Just love it.

Jake and the Fatman (1987–1992)
GREAT TV CRIME SERIES
21 February 2001
I agree to my previous speaker: "Jake And The Fatman" was one of the best TV crime dramas, and surely on top of the list during the late 1980's. I would say it lines up nicely with the great TV crime series like The Streets of San Francisco, Cannon, Petrocelli, Vega$, and Miami Vice - all quite different and individual, but all classic. By the way, I had the impression that William Conrad had his good days and less good days during the Jake And The Fatman series, especially in later episodes filmed on Hawaii. Does anyone know if William Conrad suffered from (a beginning) Parkinson's disease?

Nash Bridges (1996–2001)
NASH BRIDGES lines up with best TV shows!
9 February 2001
IMHO, Nash Bridges is one of the best TV crime drama shows of the past 10 years. I would place it next to Cannon, The Streets of San Francisco, Vega$, Petrocelli, Magnum, Miami Vice, and Jake and The Fatman. Of course, it's somehow different. More action, a more simple plot (times requires)... but I think that's okay. Furthermore, I think "Nash Bridges" developed from a "pure action and humor detective series" to a real story behind the scene. It's a good one - I am eagerly waiting for the 6th season's latest episodes.

A great pleasure to view again and again!

The headline says all I think about "The Streets of San Francisco". Great scene, great screenplays, great actors, great atmosphere. Michael Douglas shouldn't have left 1976... I would have loved to see two or three more seasons with the Stone/Keller team. SIMPLY THE BEST in any way! There have been only few "great" TV crime shows during the past 30 years; I would place Streets of San Francisco on top, followed by (in no particular order) Cannon, Petrocelli, Vega$, Magnum, Miami Vice, Jack and The Fatman, and Nash Bridges. These make watching TV a real pleasure.
