La La Land (2016)

if it is Art it is Beautiful

I dive into the movie with a bit of scepticism. It is hard to combine cinema with a play. However La La Land showed it was possible. It showed the beauty of music and colours.

The picture was astonishing, the story - full of emotions. Acting was great and Emma Stone - perfect. It showed love could be a song both happy however - sad.

The movie is about two strangers who somehow kept meeting each other in the city of LA, both following their dreams - one believing Jazz should live on and the other - trying to become an actress after seeing rejections face to face.

The way the love story was thought was spotless. It gave perspective of how things could be different, how one another should help themselves follow the dream of creating art live on to become reality despite themselves spending lives in eternity .

The movie showed us what Art really is and adding that theatre should be cherished in today's cinema.

Beauty and the Beast (I) (2017)

Emma Watson is The Perfect Belle

The story gives great gist in bringing memories from this old ferry tale from our childhood. It bring a lot of memories and the beginning of the movie refresh our memory of the details of the story. Personally I had forgotten that the furniture were alive.

The story however is different from what I remember and I believe there has been adjustment from the original tale. I believe there was a bit of a twist is in the original story where the Beauty does not get to see the Beast's appearance until the end.

I believe the acting is great and obviously the art is nearly perfect. If there is one take from the review is how grate the main protagonist Belle is portrayed by Emma Stone who fits perfectly with the story.

Babylon (I) (2022)

The Beauty of Cinema Isn't For Everyone

I will start with the fact that I absolutely loved watching Babylon and emerging myself in the world. That said, I can see why the film can throw people away.

It is not perfect and it is not for everyone. The story set in the early times of Hollywood is fabulously chosen and presented, however it does not really have a plot. This is the bit where viewers are separated into either truly enjoying the art behind cinema or leaving confused the theatre.

You can defiantly appreciate how the picture was captured, the story telling can be seen as influenced of Tarantino's early movies. The scenery was more than beautiful. However, the music and the sound directing were so perfectly placed and composed, they were the true superstars of the movie making.

M. Robbie and B. Pitt with yet another performance worth Oscar nomination. It is hard to make a movie, one without a real plot or strong story line and turn it in a masterpiece without great acting. The main characters were not anything out of the ordinary however the actors made something beyond possible.

Babylon is the pure cinema made for true enjoyers of the movies who appreciate the art behind the camera and sound work, showcasing amazing acting and proving that you do not need a story to make something beautiful.

Ferrari (2023)

Nice Picture with a Boring story

Fist things first the sound director needs to be fired. The differences in sound volumes between short scenes and background noises are horrendous. As a watcher your hand will be constantly on the remote. Some of the scenes are beautifully captured while others filmed in unprofessional way with horrible position of the camera.

Adam Driver seems to have lost all his acting skills in this movie. I believe the whole character of Enzo was badly managed and did not capture anything cultivating about his persona.

The story was uninteresting and all the blame falls on the director who throws facts to the watcher in unnatural way. Some scenes seemed forced and hence contribute to the lost sense of pace.

Overall, the movie seems cheaply made and anyone would get a feeling of a low quality, assuming there were not enough funds allocated in the making.

Mafia II (2010 Video Game)

Classic in the Genre

The story and the setting of the game is great. I loved this game the first time I played it as it was my favourite out of all three of the Mafia series. It's great progression of Vito (the main protagonist) into the crime families was really well told. The world was a nice background of the setting of what looked like New York with fantastic soundtrack of its time. The game is not an open world game so do not expect to have much more to it rather than doing mission after mission, you can still roam the world but not do much in it. The car and police gameplay is really realistic and top notched. The game had not aged well as the game play was a bit clunky the second time I played it, thankfully a remastered version came out a while ago, so the game play has been improved and holds up better to the standards nowadays. I think everyone should experience this classic of a game especially if you like the setting of the mafia in America late 20th century (well in this case middle 20th)

Mafia III (2016 Video Game)

Amazing prologue with unfortunate gameplay

The story and the pace of the game was amazing. The way the story was told was amazing. The setting is incredible too as the city based of New Orleans sets a great playground for the character who is also well build. I must say it was an amazing story full of twists and interesting moments, especially when showed with them great music setting the vibe of the late 60s. The huge disappointment of the game wasn't so much the gameplay, which was alright with a bit of downgrade on the driving from the last Mafia game, but the missions were so repetitive. To progress in the game the protagonist Lincoln Clay has to take up territories/neighbourhoods one by one from the main boss - Marciano. To take a neighbourhood or at least to get to meet the underboss who owns this territory, you have to make 2 or 3 missions which exact copy paste in each of district you have to overtake. The missions for taking down the underbosses of the districts are diverse and pretty good but the path to get there is repetitive as you have to go trough it over and over again. The characters in the game are great and fun to explore, the world is beautiful and stays as a cool background as it looks alive but in the same time there is not much to do if you want to free roam since it's an open world. The story is 10/10 but the repetitiveness of the missions really make the game to be a disappointment. If you are able to sit trough those repetitive missions and ignore them, I ensure you it's worth it, just so You can experience this amazing storyline.

Best Sitcom of All times

The shows first season did not start as great but after you get introduced to the characters and get to know them, you will start being more and mor invested with their life's. After season 2 everything starts to get much much better, and with each season it gets only better and better. You will not regret watching it and invest time into it especially if you are a fan of the typical sitcoms. To who ever I've recommended it at first they were sceptical and then changed this title to become their favourite tv series. So did I!

The Serpent (2021)

Too slow

The pace of the show is just way to slow, as it progress by showing flashback from the past and present. Set in the middle 70s and trying not to spoiler the show, I must say the show does not get you engaged. It was supposed to get you invested due to the based on true story style of a show like Narcos but it's far from it. Good luck getting thought the first two episodes.
