3 Body Problem (2024)
It's an okay watch.
3 body problem is a passable series to watch but can also leave you a little frustrated.
The acting from the older actors, Wong, Chao, Pryce and Cunningham are excellent and steal the scenes. Jess Hong does a decent job too. But, the others, not so much.
The other characters I found dull and irritating. I didn't care for them and I didn't enjoy their stories. I didn't feel any empathy for them and this can only attributed to one of two reasons, the acting or the writing/adaption from the books.
Some episodes are okay, one is fantastic, but most felt like fillers.
When I saw it was the writers from Game of Thrones who infamously butchered the show and ruined it, I was hesitant to watch this new series.
The finale is very underwhelming and left me feeling that I just wasted my time on all the episodes. It was not fulfilling, or left me on a cliffhanger or begging for a season 2.
If you got time to kill, it's an okay series.
Damsel (2024)
Written by a 10 year old?
No joke. A 10 year old could have written a better storyline!
There is no character background, explanation, etc. All the characters are hollow and meaningless.
The amount of plot holes you could make it into a 3 par gold course, Swiss cheese or a fishing net!
Millie Bobby Brown is wasted on this man-hating, girl boss movie. She is a fantastic actress and deserves better than this!
I hope Netflix made a huge loss on this pile of garbage. How about make a movie with a good plot, storyline, lore and no politics?! Is it that hard for studios in 2024 to make good movies anymore?!
Dune 2 is the best movie of 2024 so far, because they wrote a STORY not a cliche femboss hating men policial mess called a movie.
Dune: Part Two (2024)
Finally a movie for movie lovers!
We have been starved and deprived of good quality movies these last couple of years.
Hollywood and its soulless companies like Wokisney have spent billions on box checking, politics, social politics, and other nonsense onto our screens. Only for it to blow up in their faces, listen to your customers and what they want! We want a good story, plot and escape the day-to-day issues.
Thankfully, Dune: Part 2 is here to bring the balance back. No, box ticking, just good acting based on people's ability and to be immersed in a story.
Dune part 2 is excellent, great acting, the complex situation of Paul's path and the politics involved with his choices.
The downside is we will have to wait for part 3 and I want it now.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith: Double Date (2024)
Bad episode
This episode was extremely boring.
I was hoping it was going to build up to a tense and enjoyable climatic ending....but....it fizzles out and the ending is very disappointing.
I felt like I have just wasted 40 minutes watching a soap opera that is only fit for daytime television or for the tasteless lemmings who are entertained by such drivel.
I understand that this version of Mr & Mrs Smith wants to come from a different approach but I am left thinking that this episode was completely pointless.
The only thing we learn is a few small details about the company and that's it...40mins for those small details.
I hope the remaining episodes are a lot better!
Masters of the Air (2024)
Underwhelming.
I am 2 episodes in and so far it is very underwhelming.
There is little character development or characters I even care about. All are very generic and the script is lacking anything interesting.
Little to no backstory being explained in each episode with subpar acting from everyone.
The CGI looks like something from a 2002 video game.
This series is not even close to the quality that was Band of Brothers.
I was hoping this would show the true story of ALL pilots that were involved in war that were based in Britain, the British, Canadians, Aussies, Kiwis, French, Polish, Czechs, etc....but appears this will plastered with vomit inducing warped American propaganda, that "they did it all".
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Rebel Meh...Wasted potential.
I went into this movie with an open mind and optimistic for a new story of sci-fi and adventure, but I was left disappointed.
Point 1. There is little to no character development for any of them during the whole movie, we don't learn their backgrounds, their morals, their personalities. It is fast paced game of Pokémon, got to catch them all but without any substance, story or character arch. It is rushed and you don't care for them.
Point 2. Bad story telling and pacing. Everything is choppy and fast paced that you don't get to be immersed into the lore and galaxy. It's like they jumped from one green screen to another.
Point 3. Too many similarities to Star Wars that made the story predictable and unoriginal. I wanted this movie to give us a better or different story completely. It failed to do so, it became boring and lame.
Point 4. Too many slow mo's that leaves you bored and frustrated. Many unnecessary scenes with slow mo. It would have been better to have faster paced scenes but the director went crazy with the slow mo.
In all, I am very disappointed as this could have been very good if the movie had better writers, script, editing and pacing. The opportunity to make a darker Sci-Fi with an epic story and lore has been sorely wasted by Zack.
If there is going to be a Rebel Moon 2, there needs to be a lot of work to correct all the mistakes the first one movie made.
Making a Murderer (2015)
The creators lied to us!
So much of the footage and evidence was doctored or edited to fit the creators narrative! Not the actual facts!
When I first watched this series I was convinced something was suspect, things did not add up. Oh how they lied to us and covered up facts and evidence! They did their best to make a horrid murderer, Steven Avery, look innocent.
I feel like an idiot that I was convinced something was shady about the police force involved in this case.
Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi lied to all of us and played us like a fool! They forged and faked court videos to make the police look suspect. Played us all like fools.
These writers and creators should have their awards stripped from them! This is not a documentary but a work of fiction and fantasy.
What is worrying is the idiots that still think Avery is innocent. They got played by Netflix and this poor excuse of "documentary".
From: Once Upon a Time... (2023)
I won't be watching season 3.
Overall, this season was awful!
We had about 8 episodes of dialogue, boring characters, poor acting, crying, arguing, etc. I thought I was watching a mystery horror? Not a god damn soap opera!
We had more mysteries thrown at us and not a single answer to anything.
Fool me once (Lost), but fool me twice (From)? No thanks! I am not sticking around to have my time wasted, get poor or no answers and a dire grand finale like we had in Lost.
I will not be sticking around for Season 3. There are much better series out now I.e, Silo that has mystery, good acting and you get answers.
I am certainly not falling for these Lost writers again. In the end From will be about some stupid good and evil place that stops evil from spreading to the world *rolls eyes* (reference to Lost).
Go watch a well written and acted series instead is my advice.
From: Ball of Magic Fire (2023)
Something happened....finally.
It took 8 full episodes of boring, tedious, dull episodes for something to finally happened in episode 9.
This means that we have one more episode for this season, I can predict now that we will get no answers, just more random unexplained events.
This episode was half decent, but as per usual nothing was answered but we actually got some action and events that happened.
I mean, they finally sat down and actually started putting together the clueless, dreams and visions that they have had.
A good theory is that the monsters are part of someone's imagination after they have died in the town. The monsters, civil solider, insects, etc.
But overall, this season has been poor! The writing has been atrocious. Season 1 was really good, how did they screw it up so bad in season 2?!
We can only hope episode 10 is a banger to redeem something for this series, but my expectations are low.
From: Belly of the Beast (2023)
Slow...again.
This episode could have been great!
It could have been an episode where we get a deep autopsy into the corpse of one of the monsters and captive the audience, even MAYBE give us some answers.....but no.
We get 45mins of back and forth slow conversations that are suited for a soap opera and Kristi freaking out and stabbing a corpse to pieces.
In this episode we get a pointless conversation between Victor and Ethan about the season changing (even though this was established before). Another boring conversation between Julie and Elgin which served no purpose.
The writers are stretching this story so thin over this season that it is boring and infuriating the audience.
From: Lullaby (2023)
The worst episode yet.
This was almost a final nail in the coffin for most viewers.
The previous episode was a boring filler that had no story development and became a soap opera.
But this episode, was the worst I had seen so far! No story, pointless conversations, no action, more mysterious, no answers.
It is typical fashion of the Lost writing staff to throw lots of mysterious at every episode but zero answers. I think majority of viewers are tired of this approach. They did it once with Lost, they shouldn't do it again with From.
Lost got sloppy linking all the mysterious and lost their audience, it will happen to From too if they follow the same format.
