Mulholland Dr. (2001)
10/10 just for the surprise behind WINKIE'S
Experience is primary
Plot is secondary
But this one is surprisingly coherent.
One of my top 5 favorite films.
Lost in Translation (2003)
10/10 for the opening shot alone
1. Seems like a very personal, almost autobiographical film for Sofia Copolla
2. The OST plays in my head every time I'm in the vast, bright, and neon-washed streets of Tokyo or Osaka
3. Is Bill and Scarlet's love more than platonic?
4. What Bill says to Scarlet at the end and it confirms all our doubts
5. For relaxing time make it suntory time
The Half of It (2020)
9 just for Aster and Chuga Chuga Chu Chuuu
1. Paul is also funny without trying to, reminds me of my awkward teenage self.
2. Location plays a big part of the movie's charm, like Lost In Translation
3. Not a 'love story' but is a story about love
4. Advances the Romance Comedy Genre
5. Alice Wu is one kickass storyteller. Pls make for films.
6. Love is Messy.
'Wag kang lilingon (2006)
good movie - watch it
This is one of the better Filipino suspense/horror films that, aside from being tightly written and beautifully shot, has shown a lot of commercial viability. A rare feat nowadays when you either have an empty formula film or non-commercially viable atmospheric horror classic.
Cinematography is superb, the green cast of the hospital int. shots are personal favorite. Although i've seen it on countless music videos and other horror films abroad, it worked because it serves the mood of the film well.
One flaw is the excessive use of familiar faces which took away some of the suspense, but then again, they may be one of the reason why the movie was made in the first place.
Over all - a good film that i would recommend. it raised the bar of Filipino horror-suspense films a notch. Stop reading and get a copy.

Scorpio Nights - Korean Version? - spoiler alerts
I am just beginning to discover Korean cinema so I was really surprised upon seeing this film's uncanny plot similarities with Peque Gallaga's 1985 film, Scorpio Nights.
From the peeping tom- who eventually- gets- a -share- of- what- he- has- been- fantasizing- all- along -premise, down to the husband's routine before the unemotional sex with his wife, it is definitely influenced by Filipino Film in some way. There is a slim chance for things to be coincidental.
Summertime, although also a social commentary, pales in grit when compared with Scorpio Nights. The former has the look of an extended Korean soap - it lacks the dark and raw quality of the latter.
It nevertheless has the SEX and some violence that made Scorpio Nights controversial. If you're looking for a cinematic gem from the exciting Korean Cinema, you might get disappointed, but if you're looking for sex and more sex then this is a nice addition to your soft porn collection.
