Stranger Things (2016)
Nice show
Despite the easily noticeable quality drop that came along with each season, it's been an enjoyable watch. Great acting, great cinematography, even great writing on many occasions, especially during Season 1 which was, in my opinion, the most engaging, not on the same par with Westworld S1 or Game of Thrones S4, but still pretty awesome. Season 1 also has the best finale of the 3 seasons that had already aired (and I doubt S4 will change that) in my opinion. Season 2 is solid, keeps you involved, despite being a bit too slow paced sometimes hence getting a bit boring. Season 3...well... it felt like a Disney Channel show with big CGI budget too often, most of the characters being "cartooned" , left without any kind of development. I mean, never seen something more cartooned than Steve selling ice-cream. However, S3 has its exciting moments as well, but overall the writing felt very lazy. I mean evil Russians desperately trying to reopen a gate to a dimension full of monsters that would bring only chaos and destruction... it just doesn't work because there's absolutely no point in doing such thing besides taking some demo-dogs as pets. Mike and Eleven's relationship is dumped after 1 episode only to be restored at the end of the season. Out of nowhere, Hopper acts like an absolute jerk. These are a few examples. Hoping for a better season 4.
Mr. Robot: 407 Proxy Authentication Required (2019)
Just wow!
This episode is a special thing. Sam Esmail proves his genius once again by showing us that he can deliver one of the greatest episodes of all time using 6 actors and 2 rooms. No chasing, no nuclear weapons or special effects, only dialogue...meaningful and engaging dialogue. Actors gave their very best as well in order to contribute to this masterpiece.
The Outsider: Must/Can't (2020)
Disappointing
Great buildup along the series to basically nothing.
Westworld (2016)
Great start, disappointing continuation
Season 1 was masterful. A clear 10 for me. The story, despite going into a pretty common direction (robots apocalypse), is written really well, with great dialogue(especially in the scenes involving dr. Ford), great action scenes as well as very intriguing moments. Anthony Hopkins delivers one of his best performances as dr. Ford who was my favorite character (big nonsense he didn't win the Emmy for the role). Season finale is awesome for many reasons, the only issue I find is that the series could've easily ended with that episode, saving us from the quality drop of the next 2 seasons.
Season 2 was good too, a 9 for me. I've enjoyed the introspection moments and the backstory of MIB. One of the obvious cons is the transformation of Dolores who becomes a soulless killing machine. Also, the decision of the writers to kill Ford at the end of season 1 affects the quality of the next season which lack the engaging dialogue S1 had. Actually, in my opinion, Westworld died when Bernard removed Ford from his code.
Season 3 has a sophisticated apparence but a dull core. A 6.5 for me. If you're big action movies fan, you'll probably enjoy it, there are many fight scenes, explosions and so on, but there's a great lack of relevant dialogue and great psychological moments. Sérac is a joke of a villain compared to Ford who always had things under control. William/Man in Black character is totally wasted this season, basically doing nothing besides being the prisoner of Dolores, health center and then Bernard. More than that he's stupidly killed in the post credits scene which takes out of the show the second most complex character after Ford and making sure Season 4 will be a disappointment as well. Between the pros I'd mention the great cinematography and the return to Dolores' fundamental values in the last episode, even though that motivation seemed pretty forced too.
Game of Thrones: Battle of the Bastards (2016)
The perfect battle doesn't exi...
Oh, wait, it actually does. This is a masterpiece of war cinematography. The tactics, the cuts, the visuals, the tension, everything was at the very best.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Good
Kinda fan service but I enjoyed it better than the previous 2 movies of the trilogy.
Game of Thrones: The Laws of Gods and Men (2014)
Peter Dinklage at his finest
The description says it all, brilliant episode. I always enjoy rewatching it.
Game of Thrones: The Winds of Winter (2016)
Amazing
The definition of the perfect ending for a season, I just couldn't expect more from season 6 finale. Good old times when D&D weren't messing the script.
Game of Thrones: And Now His Watch Is Ended (2013)
Just Classy
Undoubtedly one of the best episodes of the series. My 3rd favorite.
Game of Thrones (2011)
Never seen a more realistic fantasy series!
Every time I read or watch a fantasy story, I expect to see absolute heroes and and absolute villains, more exactly tipical characters with poor psychological development. About GoT I can only say you'll see the most realistic characters in a fantasy story. There is no main character which makes the plot even more exciting and surprising. The numerous twist will make you stand on the edge of your seat in many moments. The graphics and the music are fantastic as well. My only complaint about is about the last 3 episodes of Season 8 where the plot was uselessly rushed which reflected in a significant loss regarding to characters arcs. Maybe producing 10 episodes to the final season would have offered the producers the chance to develop the twists much better than they've done. My favorite TV series anyways.
PS: I'd have rated it 9.5, but I don't have that opinion.
