The Little Mermaid (I) (2023)

Not a bad live-action adaptation of the animated film.
6 July 2023
I liked three of Rob Marshall's previous films that he did for Disney: Annie (1999), 'Into the Woods', and 'Mary Poppins Returns'. So, I was going into this one with positive expectations. I was fortunate enough to see in both Dolby 3D and IMAX. The visuals, scenery, and cinematography are stunning. I also thought the film had solid casting choices. Halle Baily brought the youthful spirit of Ariel from the original and has a lovely voice; Melissa McCarthy was entertaining as Ursula; and Jonah Hauer-King brought depth to Prince Eric. The designs of the characters were distracting though. Plus, the film starts off kind of slow since there is no musical number until "Part of Your World". "Fathoms Below" is moved to a later scene in the movie. Still, I had good time watching it.

Painful to watch.
9 January 2022
I saw this movie years ago and I didn't enjoy it then. Recently, I watched it again to see if my initial thoughts about it were right and they still are. The leads and supporting characters are not very likeable and the messages are very disingenuous and insincere. Gary Marshall's work was never enjoyable for me and he clearly did not think carefully about what this film was trying to accomplish as a director and writer. It really surprises me that that this film did not receive more Razzie Award nominations along with the one that Lewis received.

Not awful just very predictable.

Warning: Spoilers
This isn't a terrible film at all. It does have some solid acting and decent special effects, but there is one major issue with the film as a whole. It's very predictable. I had never read the book before, but I knew what was going to happen while I was watching it. When Jonathan told Lewis not to open something in the house, you obviously know that he will eventually do it. It was very clear that Tarby never truly cared for Lewis at all. Plus, I knew right away that the mother of Lewis wasn't who she appeared to be when she told Lewis to open the book to impress Tarby. It's far from the worst thing I've ever seen in theaters, but I don't plan on watching it again.

Much better than "Shrek the Third" and is a surprisingly good film
29 June 2010
"Shrek Forever After" is a surprisingly good film. Though it is not as great as "Shrek" or "Shrek 2" it is a HUGE improvement over "Shrek the Third." The movie helped the franchise gain some of its heart back that was lacking in the third film and had some terrific action scenes. The first time I saw it I didn't think it was very funny, but when I went back to see it a second time I was laughing plenty of times. The film also teaches an important lesson that if you have a good life you should not give it up for anything. If Shrek had never met Fiona or any of his friends they all would have had rough lives. Overall, the movie is a great conclusion to the film series.

Weakest Link (2002– )

Not good at all.
14 September 2006
This show started out okay, but then it turned into a nightmare. The worst part about it was the contestants. Most of them had weird behavior. They did stupid things for a living and they also did strange hobbies. Also, no one cared about winning money. All they ever wanted to do was make alliances like it was "Survivor" or something. The men were always afraid that the women were going to team up together. The women were the same also. I really did not enjoy this game show at all. I feel like I wasted my time coming from school and watching this. It would have been better for me to turn on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' or Japanese animated cartoons instead.

Awesome Movie.

This is the best version of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" I have ever seen. The cast is great; the special effects are amazing, and the scenery is beautiful. It's no wonder that Andrew Adamson did a very good job of directing the movie since he did Shrek and Shrek 2. The other versions of this story are not as good. Peter was my favorite character. He reminded me of Harry Potter because of his courage and Ron Weasley because of his sense of humor. They probably shouldn't have made Susan a little stuck up because she wasn't like the that in the books. In the last book, they say she stops believing in Narnia. They made that to obvious. The girl who played Lucy did a great job, and the boy who played Edmund portrayed his character very well. The BBC version wasn't good because it had poor special effects and scenery. The animated movie was all right, but it wasn't really exciting.
