Keeping Faith (2017)
Watch season 1 then stop
The first season was a great bit of watching. An intriguing plot with interesting characters had me going back for more.
Season 2 was a mediocre mess that has the main character running in circles to appease a poorly written pantomime baddie.
Season 3 was an abomination of writing. Characters with unclear motivations, poorly written side plots that lead nowhere and the death of two characters in the final episode they had me sigh at the ridiculousness.
I could go in depth but frankly it's not worth my time or yours.
The actors are all fantastic and they did a good job holding together a lame script. I just hope they don't make any more for everyone's sake.
Gabby's Dollhouse (2021)
Generic
Doesn't really have any original ideas or any solid educational messages but they do pick a theme for each episode and they stick with it. It's more like mindless entertainment for little ones.
A lot of the characters and designs are forgettable, I mean, they named a little animated cake "Cakey".
I see a lot of 10 star reviews but this doesn't hold a candle to many modern kids shows
Dracula (2020)
So close
A wonderfully acted show that started with a phenomenal first episode, stalled a bit in the second and nose dived into mediocrity in the third.
Moffat ran with an awful concept for the third episode and didn't stop to think it through. This show could have truly been one of the best Dracula adaptations of all time but will be loathed for the poor ending
The Prodigy (2019)
All of the tropes
This film comprises of pretty much every conceivable trope available for this type of film. The performances were great but the writing is just plain awful. This film should be buried somewhere deep and dark never to be seen again by the eyes of man
The Tiger Who Came to Tea (2019)
A great adaptation of the book
Beautiful animation, great voice acting and true to the original source material
Midsommar (2019)
Slow burning and creepy
If you are looking for standard horror then walk away. This film is a slow burner that gets under your skin and slowly turns up the creep factor
It's visceral at times but will leave you with a feeling of creeping dread at what's to come next
What We Do in the Shadows (2019)
Solid writing and a great cast
A wonderfully dry humored show that has some top tier jokes. Every cast member embodies their character perfectly and I for one, can't wait for season 2
