Trashy sci-fi!

I hadn't seen this one before yesterday. It is REALLY AWFUL! There is NO REALISM here. NONE! Why do all the ALEEUNS (!) look like rejects from some bad rock band?

Why do the ALEEUNS always treat humans as trash?

Oh, right, GOLD! The Universe is full of gold so there is no shortage. There was a nice pile at the end. What the ALEEUNS did with the gold I have no idea. I do have a hearing problem and may have missed some things.

Why the ALEEUNS built all those GLASS buildings I have no idea either. Seems like a lot of infrastructure just to mine gold.

After 1000 years those old planes and weapons would be junk!

This one is so bad, skip it altogether!

The Replacement Killers (1998)

Lots of action with one fatal flaw.

This movie has lots of shooting action with one fatal flaw. Did anyone notice that throughout the whole movie the heroes were totally out-gunned? And, they never corrected this problem? Even with two automatic pistols each, they would have been slaughtered by the bad guys with automatic rifles! Of course, the bad guys couldn't hit anyone who counted! This is so far from reality that it's just awful.

I want to make clear that you do not use automatic pistols for an offensive assault. Even if the bad guys are incompetent, eventually they will hit you!

Armageddon (1998)

Very inaccurate

This movie is so inaccurate it makes "The China Syndrome" seem perfect! Even the action scenes share this flaw. The timeline is so short there is not enough time to launch such a major operation to save the Earth. What happens to the Russian space station (no, not the Mir which had no refueling facility, and liquid oxygen is NOT a fuel in any case!) is very similar to what actually happened to the Mir. Not worth seeing except for escapism!
