Westworld: Crisis Theory (2020)
How is this the lowest rated?
Best episode of the season. The first time in the series that I actually cared about Dolores.
I loved all of it except the first postcredit.
Westworld: Passed Pawn (2020)
Caleb is too much main character
We all knew something was up with Caleb and personally I found his scenes in this episode quite intriguing.
But he has got way too much screen time and it feels like the writers only focused on his character and my favorites like Bernard, Maeve and Stubbs etc are just side characters that randomly appear. If this season contained 10 episodes maybe I would be fine with it, but with only 8 episodes many interesting characters are set aside to give Caleb the main story.
Westworld: Decoherence (2020)
We are maggots eating a corpse
I'm speechless. As with every episode, there are so many WTF moments. This show consistently blows my socks off.
I loved William's idea of how humanity are all maggots eating a corpse and how much it relates. So good to see James Delos and young William again. I'm happy to see William m'boy finally redeem himself and literally kill all his past versions of himself. So excited to see where his character ends up and what game Ford really planned for him.
But more than anything I love the talk between Dolores and Maeve. You know that they're both right. Everything is grey in there. It is so hard to chose sides in this season, I literally want everyone to make it.
When watching episode 1 of this season, I was a bit afraid that this show would turn too much into Terminator, but I must say the scenes with Charlores are absolutely amazing cinematography.
Though the last scene with Hale was one of the most disturbing thing I have ever seen, it was so hard to watch.
Westworld season 1 is hands down the best thing I have ever seen on television, but this season might actually beat it. I can't wait for the last episodes. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are doing such a great work to make it confusing throughout each episode and give us plot twists on the plot twists. Best writing I have ever seen. Too bad they didn't write GoT season 8...
Westworld: Genre (2020)
What am I watching?
Great TV for sure with its cinematography, visual effects and so on, but is this westworld? Do the writers even try to make it feel like westworld or to make sense?
Dolores character is completely ruined and is now a murderous terminator. She actually feels more like a robot now than she did in season 1.
I really hope that things ties up well in the season finale, or else this episode is useless, just visual effects and no plot.
Also, we need way more William and Bernard. Does anyone even like Dolores? Please kill her off in the season finale to make season 4 better.
Westworld: The Mother of Exiles (2020)
William M'boy, where the hell have you been?
I have been looking forward to Ed Harris return most of all this season and wow, did it deliver. This episode is simply amazing, definitely in my top 3 of the series.
It directs the storyline in the best possible direction and answers the biggest question for season 3, yet there is still so much to figure out.
This is "the red wedding episode" of westworld and the cinematograhy, storytelling and twist is even better.
