Thank you, High School
The main reason to why I watched this movie was because of a school assignment, where we watch a "based on a true story" movie and compare it to real life events.
Well, boy am I thankful that I picked this movie among the list of films I could've picked!
This is a brilliantly made film! Almost all elements of this movie did a really good job of transporting me back in time and making me feel like I'm at war with Schofield and Blake.
The fact that most of this movie is (for the most part) a single long take adds such an incredible realism to the overall experience. It makes the movie feel more real and less like a movie, if that makes any sense. It's so excellently well done!
This movie, to me, captures the brutal nature of war really well. And with the movie opening and closing in a similar way shows the cycle one has to endure during war.
This movie did not disappoint and I recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting war drama that shows new ways movies can be made in modern day.
Strong 9 to a 10 / 10.
Schindler's List (1993)
Masterpiece
I'm still in awe. It's been probably a year since I watched this movie for the first time. I haven't watched it since then...I still think this movie is flawless.
Everything in this movie feels so real (I mean, it's based on a true story after all).
Most of the time, It didn't feel like a movie. It felt like found footage from one of the darkest, if not the darkest, times of history.
I had to legitimately remind myself that I was watching a movie, not a documentary. There was people behind it, who took their time and patience to make this 3 hour long opus.
It's rare that I say this genuinely, but this movie is a fucking masterpiece.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
Oh my goodness
I was already spoiled about some things about this movie, but that didn't fully take away my experience watching this smart, funny, clever and even mature movie.
The animation, the characters, the story, the moral, All really really well done! I loved every minute of it! I recommend it for ages 9 or 10 and up.
100% the best animated movie I've seen in a while now and the best all of 2022/2023
---SPOILER FILLED COMMENTS AHEAD---
The story about Puss struggling with his mortality is surprisingly relatable and honestly kind-of scary. I was on the edge of my seat the whole film. And may I say? The Big Bad Wolf being a representation of death is possibly the best concept in an animated movie...ever. His voice, stature and design are all amazing. The best villain I've seen in a LOOONG time.
SuperMarioGlitchy4: SMG4 Movie: Meggy's Destiny (2020)
Just a great movie!!
*Warning:Opinions and mild Spoilers ahead!!*
This is my opinion based review on "Meggy's Destiny: An SMG4 Movie"
This movie is all levels of great. The animation is great, the story is great, the action is great, the drama is great and the music is great.
The movie has a real sense of charm and child like wonder that makes you feel like you are watching a movie that secretly has a deep and meaningful moral that you never notice at first (in a good way :3)
The story especially has a wonderful underground moral of acceptance, denial, anger, fear, anxiety, loss and even a hint of racism in there.
(I do have some few grips with the movie, but I don't want to list them here cause I only wanna give my positivity about this movie. And me saying them makes me feel like I'm a critic or a supervisor. Which I'm not, I'm just a fan :3)
We are looking at a wonderful team of talented animators, writers, directors and producers putting their heart and soul onto a project that to me wraps Meggys and Destis story arc with a greatly made bow.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
-Opinion Ahead-
"Spider Man:Into The Spider-Verse" is an amazing, visually stunning, eye popping, color filled, unique and hilarious wild ride.
Both movie-goers and die-hard fans of Marvel or Spider Man will most likely love this movie.
My age recommendation would be: 8 years old or older
This is one of the best, if not, the best animated movie I've ever seen and I definitely highly recommend it!!
SuperMarioGlitchy4 (2011)
-Opinion Ahead-
SMG4 is a funny, crazy, sporadic, intense, even emotional and total madness of a ride in it's dumb (but good) ways, no mater what episode it is.
Foodfight! (2012)
...
Terrible animation, awkward voice-acting and sloppy story.
The movie was just awful...enough said
DuckTales: Whatever Happened to Della Duck?! (2019)
Gosh darn it!!
This episode is not only a good episode but its easily one of my favorite episodes in the series! The mystery of Della duck was/is really good. Now it's revealed and I love it.
Spoilers ahead!
At the end of the episode revealing the secret colony, and that they had gold so Della could power the ship was a bit out of nowhere but I later accepted.
The reason I gave this 10 stars is because of that song that Della sang for the monster's kid actually made me cry! Now that is good!
