The Mandalorian: Chapter 13: The Jedi (2020)
Ahsoka is okay... but need better
Ahsoka is one of my favorite characters from the animated series. I do like Dawson, but Ahsoka would be so much more powerful in this timeline. The battle at the end with The Magistrate was not very good from an Ahsoka stand-point. It was a fun battle to watch but well below Ahsoka's abilities. In Rebels, she shuts down the inquisitor Seventh Sister's lightsaber will only her force abilities and the Sister has force abilities. Ahsoka doesn't use any force abilities in this fight against a spear and gets disarmed of one of her lightsabers. Yikes. Ahsoka is one of the best lightsaber wielders we've seen in SW. Here her abilities make her look weak. The Ahsoka I am familiar with would've walked in and force pulled that spear away and ended it before it started.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Shaky Cam Nightmare
I loved the story and the acting, but can we please move on from all the shaky cam? It's nausea inducing and it's 2021 already. Bourne Identity was almost 20 years ago. Please stop.
Star Trek: Discovery: That Hope Is You, Part 2 (2021)
Too Much Shaky Cam
This season has been extraordinarily bad with the shaky cam. Overall, I have enjoyed this season, but whew... headache driven visuals.
The Legend of Korra (2012)
Missing Aaron Ehasz's Touch
The world of the Avatar is amazing and Avatar: The Last Airbender was more heartfelt and the characters stronger. The Legend of Korra feels like a sandwich without the insides. The lack of accountability for their actions and the constant yelling is far from ATLA. If you want to watch a great story with deep characters and binding friendships, watch The Dragon Prince and feel Aaron Ehasz's brilliance.
Star Trek: Short Treks: Q&A (2019)
I am enjoying these Shorts
This one is my favorite so far. I love Number One and, of course Spock. Una begins to shape the young ensign as only a commander can tutelage a brilliant mind. Her mentorship of young Spock is interesting to ponder as now we can think of two brilliant people Spock had when he first entered Starfleet; Captain Pike and Number One. Kudus!
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Who can say when madness strikes?
Don't listen to the naysayers; the intensity of the episode is amazing.
Westworld (2016)
More cerebral, less dumb predictable
You like a show that takes a couple views to understand the subtle nuances you missed the first time watching and makes you THINK? The people reviewing S:2 calling it a hot mess, have missed the boat. S:2 is brilliant and deep and took me another watching to begin to understand all that was happening-because A LOT IS HAPPENING.
Don't listening to the others if you like a show that makes you think, question characters, and slide predictability out of the room. Watch it. And maybe a second time. Or even a third, because the light bulb with turn on.
