Reacher (2022)
Perfect - Book/characters come to life
I enjoyed Tom Cruise as Reacher but this series is perfect, bringing the book and characters to life. There's humor when appropriate, and the characters don't capitulate into the predictable story patterns. Can't wait for season 2.
Promising Young Woman (2020)
Unusual and Refreshing
Finally a movie that doesn't follow Hollywood formulas. Good acting by Carrie Mulligan carrying the movie to the end. If only we all had a friend dedicated as Cassie. I enjoyed the movie to the end.
Army of One (2020)
Watch the Trailer and save 90 minutes
There are so many WTF moments and WTF are you doing that ? That take away from the movie. If they made it more like John Wick and she just started killing and blowing up stuff that might have redeemed the movie. Disappointed.
First Kill (2017)
Nice twist but falls short
Father takes his son hunting to help the sons problems with a school bully only to have his family become entangled in the towns big bank burglary. Rolls reversed and the son learns from an unlikely source.
Story line has holes that aren't answered and requires assuming on the viewers part. Entertaining if you can suspend your need for a good story line.
Girl Fever (2002)
Girl Fever (2002) vs. 100 Girls
Girl Fever was on TMC 12/3/03 and even TMC thought it was 100 Girls. If there's ever been a poster child of plagiarism its Girl Fever (2002). The story line, characters and story progression follow the well performed, artistic and well thought out story line of 100 Girls.
Despite the feeling of being misled by TMC and the writer/producers of Girl Fever (2002) I did enjoy the movie. The acting was good, jokes delivered well and characters interesting. However, through out the whole movie I could keep from comparing it to 100 Girls.
I have this on my "To Buy" list if only to compare it to 100 Girls when I get that movie and probably watch it 100:1 (Girl Fever (2002)).
Thats my review and I'm sticking to it.
20 Dates (1998)
Love-u-mentary
Myles Berkowitz stars and direct's his version of the difficulties in finding a date near the end of the 21's century. While Myles can be annoying and shallow as the New York version of a California Vally Girl, he personifies the distress a 30ish single American male experiences attempting to find a date. I'd love to have his problems: his producer wants him to date a porno star, Tia Carrere and a host of beautiful California women.
