Shaft (2000)
It's still an excellent movie
I heard a few critics say they left the movie house saying "What's the point" after seeing the new Shaft. I left the movie, knowing it was 29 years since the last Shaft, when I was just a kid watching my first rated R movie. I didn't understand until later just what the original Shaft meant to the public at large. Now I am older and maturer and so is Hollywood. Yes! I totally agree the "Shaft" was history in the making. The original has it's place in movie history but that does not mean Shaft 2000 wasn't a good movie. Good Movie? In Fact it was great! Suspense, action, and you dig Shaft, once again....Now can you dig that?
The movie has action, one liners, intrigue. It was a great movie. It will never be Shaft 1, but with it's theatrics and budget Shaft 1 will never be Shaft 2000.
Jumping Jacks (1952)
THE BEST MARTIN AND LEWIS MOVIE
Jumping Jacks though early in the careers of Martin and Lewis personified and solidified the act as comedians. Though it was relatively the end of their comedy team, this movie only proved they had more fun and slap stick to come. Fantastic laugh a minute movie with a few Martin songs which are equally as good. If you have never seen a Martin and Lewis movie this is the one to see.
Gone with the Wind (1939)
GONE WITH THE WIND standing the true test of time and PLAYERS
It is the greatest movie from our grandparents past that could teach the players of today a thing or two. Filled with many note worthy stars proving their point in every scene "Don't hate the Player, Hate the Game."
Based on a young woman coming into her own and how life and times can make the very innocent hard and demanding. Gliding through people as though they were objects until she reaches her goal, but at the point of reaching her goal she loses all she once had gained except for all the objects she has collected along the way trying to cure an empty heart including Terra...her home from birth right. Setting in the Civil War Era Post and Pre. It is a love story without getting pointless. It is a history lesson with the surroundings of the civil war and slavery, but without getting very boring. It is full with moments of charm, melancholy, humor and interest. A very sound deep movie....Deeper than skin.
