Sick (2022)
Decent slasher if you can see it
Literally most of it is so dark I could barely see what was happening. Streamed on Paramount Plus, maybe that was the issue?
Otherwise, the scare factor is good and the acting was decent.
The events take place at the beginning of Covid era lockdown. The two college aged friends escape to a remote family cabin (more like a country mansion) to ride out the pandemic. But, they aren't alone...
Usual slasher fare until the last 20 minutes when the "why" of it all is revealed. I literally said "really?" out loud.
Ultimately, the premise is a bit thin and unsatisfying - it was trying to be clever but left me rolling my eyes.
Infinite (2021)
Ignore the haters
Not a 10 but perfectly enjoyable. Sci-Fi Action is very subjective but this does not deserve a rating of 1, 2, 3 etc . Just other studio shills or miserable hacks, ignore them.
The Upshaws (2021)
Episode 3 and the rest
It picks up and is fun starting with episode 3. Wanda and Mike Epps exchanging zingers are the worth waiting for. It's fun, give it a chance.
Willy's Wonderland (2021)
Tell me why
Nick Cage vs demonic Chuck E. Cheese and his friends. Nick Cage never says one word. Maybe watch while tripping?!
Kung Fu (2021)
Indignant reviewers
How can you pass such extreme judgement after 1 episode? Give things a chance! I like that the cast is almost all Asian - heck let's remember David Carradine was a white man playing a half-Chinese man and while he was good in the role it could never be authentic. I find the show enjoyable and I look forward to more episodes. Rating a 7 for now. Not a fan of filming in Canada pretending to be San Francisco but that's not the actor's fault.
The Patriot (2000)
Did my theatre get the unedited version?
I'm not going to comment on the story itself... mediocre at best. I did wonder if my theatre received an unedited copy of the movie! I lost track of how many times I saw the overhead microphone (5+)!!! I can forgive one but more than that is just plain sloppy and removed me from the fantasy of watching a movie to reminding me it's all Hollywood...
