Day of the Sirens (2002)
Better second time around
I enjoyed and understood this film much better after a second viewing, it made a lot more sense and allowed me to enjoy the story, when last time I felt like I should have been taking notes. Angelo's character was much more revealing, he was in fact clearly sinister right from the start. If you haven't seen this film before he is the one to watch, not just because of his lovely body, but his character is the most complex. I loved the way at the beginning you know nothing, you're thrown in at the deep end and are forced to either sink or swim, life is like that, and it's nice for a change not to have to everything spelled out. When a major incident/new story breaks, that is the way the news comes in, broken and confused, even contradictory, gradually you work out what really is happening over the coarse of the day. As for motives, they don't come out to much much later, sometimes they never do. Day of the Sirens is a very realistic film, not for the stupid or anyone wanting a fairytale ending, unsettling.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2000)
Bloody great!
Very silly movie with lots of great twists, didn't know what the hell was going on a couple of times but then found me way back. My son bought me this and said I would like it. I didn't like it I loved it, especially the fat drunk slapper. Not like any British film I've ever seen before. Ten outta ten. Bloody great!
