Rebound (2005)
Sweet, predictable, and funny
I know there are going to be a lot of criticism re: Rebound, but we really loved this movie because of it's sweetness, in spite of it's predictability.
Martin Lawrence was very endearing and funny as Coach Roy (and we were not fans of his prior to seeing Rebound). The kids they cast were excellent, because they were "real" looking kids--goofy, cute, innocent, etc. You really came to love all of the characters in this movie.
I would encourage all parents to take their kids to this very entertaining, squeaky-clean, feel good movie this summer!
Signs (2002)
Loved It!
**** No Spoilers Here *********
I just wanted to say that I read all the good/bad comments and decided to go see "Signs" with an open mind and no preconceived notions as to how the movie was going to be. I thought it was awesome! The suspense was incredible, and judging by the sold out theatre audience, they felt the same way. The tension and gasps in the theatre were amazing! There was also a lot of great humor and a nice message to the film.
Go see it, with an open mind! By the way, my husband and 19 year old daughter loved it also and as people were exiting the theatre, I heard nothing but good stuff from the crowd. I think that the people who were disappointed had been given some bad info that led them to expect something else from this wonderful movie!
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
Worst movie I've ever seen (so far) :(
Don't waste your money.
Would have been better if they wrote their own music instead of the cheezy use of pop songs.
What a dreadful low the film industry has hit. Doesn't anyone appreciate originality and creativity anymore? Recycling music is not being creative and I feel the film was highly overrated.
On the plus side, I liked the costumes and the cinematography, but hated the music, the plot and the acting so much that I could not appreciate the good stuff.
