AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem (2007)
This is why people download
This movie is an excellent example why people download movies from the Internet. OK, sadly I went to the movies and grabbed this one, but I should have known better, and waited for a version of it on the nett. Why? Cause it was really terrible! People should t be expected to pay for something like this. The advertising and promotion make people think this is a good popcorn flick, inn other words, the film studio lies to us, creating expectations they know they cant live up to. Thats freaking stealing man!
So, if Twentieth Century-Fox starts crying their butts of, cause they "lost" some million dollars because of illegal downloads, to bad for them. If you guys lie to us, we freaking "steal" movies from you.
The only reason for not giving this peace of meat pie a 1, is because of the special effects, which is good. But special effects don't make a good movie. A story does! I want my money back!
Rambo (2008)
John Rambo kills again.
I read some rewires here, that this is a masterpiece, and that the movie is a important reminder of the conflict in Burma. What a load of stuff that comes out of the bottom of most mammals. This is a Rambo movie, made with the intension of making money. Its a greedy exploitation of whats really happens in Burma, and you have to be an American to think otherwise. Patriotism my "you know where."
But its fun exploitation. If you can call anything just that. They did pretty much the same thing in Rambo 2 and 3, the only differences is that the US is not that involved with the Burma conflict, so why do something else now?
Its a mindless blood-feast with the steroid eating killing machine Rambo at the center. Its action, its gory, and most of us liking this kind of stuff will love it.
Sly delivers a back to the 80s action packed popcorn fun-ride. Enjoy! :)
Transformers (2007)
A Great Big Smile
Just returned home from a pre advanced viewing here inn Trondheim, Norway. How shall I put this? The movie was brilliant! OK, I might not be any smarter after viewing this mind blowing, well acted, special effects extravaganza, but holy c**p, a big popcorn menu later, I went out of the Prinsen theater with a great big smile on my face. Im 34 years old, but the kid in me woke up tonight, and started remembering Optimus Prime and Co from my childhood. Seening Prime "alive" at the screen made goosebumps all over me, and seeing cool Bumblebee as a Camero didn't spoil anything. Even if GM is a idiotic company, they sure makes cool cars. (Not that I will by one) And the Camero was a perfect sub for the VW. I will not spoil anything and tell anything about the movie itself, other that it was candy for the eyes, exiting and funny. A must see this summer. If a action adventure anytime deserved a top score, Transformers is the one. 10 out of 10 from me.
Elsk meg i morgen (2005)
We love Elling
Saw "Elsk meg i Morgen" i Trondheim this night. (Ocktober 30-2005) After the disappointment of "Mors Elling", it was great to see Elling and Kjell Bjarne together again.
Kjell Barne has moved out, and live one floor up for Elling with his girl and child, and they find Elling very sick inn his apartment. But tings get better, and Elling is soon back on his feet's, and falls for a girl who works at a hot-dog stand.
Elling have a extremely low self esteem, and I don't think he finds himself very interesting, but he tries to hide it. He struggles to find his place in the world, and admires and is kind of jealous of people who has figured it out. He also a naive view of the world, and old values and pride haunts his actions and views of things. And this hits him in the face quite often. His mental healths depends on how the world treat him, and when his on top of things he seems to blossoms of pride and self esteem, but he is really scared underneath. And when the world hits him, he falls apart.
I really liked this movie. It made me smile, and it made me sad. Elling tries very hard to live like everybody else, he really does, but "our" world is not the world Elling thinks he lives in. His like a naive child who tries to do grown up things, and thats a recipe of disaster for him. And to see Elling go thru this is quite sad. There is warmth here, and a lot of compassion, and this human drama is very well don in this excellent movie. Go see it!
Alone in the Dark (2005)
We are under attack!
Oh, my sweet little lord! This movie was Awful!I refuse to accept that I just wasted time of my life to this insult of a movie. Disaster, disaster, disaster! Did Taliban do something to this movie? Did they produce this pore excuse of a movie just to terrorize us? And poor Cristian Slater! I really feel for him. How in all the world did somebody get him to "play" in this "movie". Did he own somebody a favor? Did the Taliban producers hold his family for ransom just to get him in this "picture"? I just don't understand it! What the h*** is going on? Have the world goon totally mad? Please Taliban, STOP! We give up! We surrender! Just don't make any more "films" like this! PLEASE!
Seed of Chucky (2004)
Ziggy "child" played Guitar!
What a treat! Chucky and Tiffany is back, and their confused son, a Ziggy Stardust from hell inspired doll with gender problems, rocks the movies like never before. Humor combined with clever writing, blood and gore, makes this a fun little picture to enjoy. There are some classic moments in the movie, seeing Chuckys silluet... well, U know what I mean when you see it!
So, the question is; when will we get to see Chucky VS Freddy VS Jason VS Alien VS Predator? What famous killer could Chucky be able to meet? Who's left? Leatherface? Don't think so! Ah, I know; Chucky VS Michael Myers!
"Its Halloween, Myers has yet again turned back from the dead, and Chucky gives all to get Michaels body. Myers on the other hand keeps looking for his sister, not knowing that Tiffany has taken hold of her body!"
Why the h*** not? Could be fun!:)
Willard (2003)
Rats!
Willard struggles! Every person inn his life is somehow pushing him down, and his self-esteem is non-existent. He lives with his mother in his old childhood house, and this guy should have moved out long ago!
His boss really hates him, and looks at him as a pitiable little loser! The only reason he let Willard keep his job, it because he in the past promised Willard's father to let his son have a job as long as his mothers still alive. And Willard is kind of a loser, and his mother knows that! One of my favourite scenes is where Willards mother criticizes his son's name. `Willard, from now on your name is Clark...good night Clark!' Inn that moment, and without any real taught, she crushes his soul and identity, and tells him his not worth a dam s***, and she doesn't even realise it! And that is the story of Willard's life in a nutshell. Nobody cares about him, and those few who does, don't get him and hurts him unintentionally. And those who think they gets him, despises him. Nobody sees under his skin, and he is often misunderstood.
But in the basement some much-needed friends suddenly shows up, and slowly he develops a strange and close relationship with rats. Especially one of them! He develops a strange and bizarre love relationship with this white rat. He sleeps with it, and talk to it like a human being. He trains the rest of them, and the more his boss and people push him, the clearer Willards intension get. He wants revenge; he is tired of being pushed around.
But Willard lacks some simple human skills, and those skills may possibly have saved him for much of the troubles he is in for, namely the skill of tackling jealousy, and the skill of diplomacy.
I loved this movie! Its dark, its bizarre, and Crispin Glover is brilliant as Willard.
Cabin Fever (2002)
We are all going to die!
What do you get if you ad just a dose of Outbreaks disease, a big dose of youngsters going to a cabin to be `unmoral' like in Evil Dead, and one dose of various ingredients from other movies from similar genres?
Well, you get Cabin Fever!
This movie probably lacks every fresh thought, and every original idea in the world. But strangely enough it works...kind of. The story is set when a group of young fresh eager to die bunch of kids arrives to this cabin, where sex drugs and alcohol is just waiting to justify their horrible and painful death. Sounds familiar? Yes, but it is great fun, and they all get what they deserve. Or do they?
The moral in movies like this is always the same. If you don't follow the social rules, you will die die die! And society will fall fall fall. I think it's unfair to send out messages like this in the time we live in now, cause you will not die horribly if go out with you friends and have a good time. I would rather see a movie where a group of high society leaders, and stoke holders, fire 1000s of people, exploiting minorities and hard working people, die horrible instead! That would be interesting, that would be original. In the mean while I give Cabin Fever a 5 of 10. No masterpiece, but worth a look.
Love Liza (2002)
Loved Love Liza!
Love Liza is a not a movie for everyone. Its kind of slow but that is kind of the point. We meet Wilson Joel, beautifully portrayed by one of my favourite actors Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who has lost his wife, Liza. His wife has committed suicide, and our friend is seriously struggling with his loss. He finds Lizas suicide letter, and Wilson who has great problems solving his grief is unable to read the letter.
I found this movie to be really good. Like I said, it's not a movie for everyone, but If you like movies that shows personal drama in a non-Hollywood fashion, you might like this one. Kathy Bates plays Lizas mother, an as always, she does a hell of a job.
