Hulk (2003)

Ang Lee overcomes the script
18 June 2003
Not your average comic-book adaptation. Ang Lee has created a film that is a textbook for directors. Even when the plot stumbles over itself, Ang Lee deftly saves the film from itself. This film is a visual delight.

Insomnia (2002)
10/10
A textbook for film schools
10 July 2002
There's not a single wasted frame in this movie. If anything, that is it's only flaw -- a couple of scenes might have been extended a bit more. Many films succeed with one third the material.

The film foreshadows certain developments, although they are revisited with a different look at the proper moment.

The acting is from good to excellent and the scenery is a travel brochure for Alaska.

Exquisitely bad
1 February 2002
The plot is silly, the script is incoherent. The director has compiled a montage of what must be the worst takes of each scene. The line readings are syncopated. It's a complete mess. It is breathtaking to see something this perfect.
