Beart's performance is heart-wrenching!
6 August 2002
Un Coeur En Hiver is a deeply moving film. Beart's achingly beautiful performance as a violinist who becomes infatuated with an emotionally stunted craftsman, is breathtaking to behold. The craftsman, played by Auteuil, displays an almost unbelievable emptiness of emotion, as he rejects the "unrejectable" Camile(Beart)! The soundtrack of this movie conveys as much emotion as the lead characters do, and is hauntingly beautiful to the ear. This movie is a must for Beart fans! Just seeing those beautiful intense eyes is reason enough to view this film.

Crazy Moon (1987)
A touching portrayal of two "outcasts" who find romance.
4 August 2002
This film is an excellent example of Canadian Kiefer Sutherland's acting talent. In this film, he portrays an emotionally stunted young man, who meets a beautiful deaf girl. Although he is rich, and has all the advantages possible, he never got over the feeling of abandonment caused by his mother's disappearance after his birth. The deaf girl is attractively portrayed by Vanessa Vaughn, whom, I believe, is deaf in real life. Their courtship is very touching, as she helps him overcome his fear of swimming while he coaches her to speak better! They help each other with their physical and emotional limitations. Another interesting element to this film is the atmosphere! Most of the music is hit songs from the 30's, as well as Canadian alternative music from the mid-eighties! All set in a picturesque modern-day Montreal setting! Although the plot is definitely weak and contrived in some places, this is still a very worthwhile film to watch on an emotional level!

Weak sequal.Poor to adequate acting!
20 May 2001
Darkman 2: The Return Of Durant, is a very weak sequal to Sam Raimi's Darkman! I recognized alot of Canadian actors, so I guess this was a low-budget affair. I feel the acting was adequate, but certain characters, like Kim Delaney as the ace reporter, were miscast! The direction seemed a little unfocused, as this seemed like a very long 93 minute film. The pace was much slower and the film much less exciting than the first in the series! I think the screenplay could have used some tweaking too! The special effects weren't bad, but they could have been used at more opportune moments to add excitement to a better constructed screenplay. Overall, I'd say this film is a poor effort in all aspects.
