Hidden Palms (2007)

Solid show with potential
13 November 2023
Hidden Palms had potential as a murder mystery teen drama. The writing is surprisingly solid and the whole cast does a great job. Fans of both The OC and Veronica Mars will notice familiar faces and appreciate the concept.

Sadly it had the misfortune of airing right after The OC ended which coincidentally also starred Taylor Handley as well in its first season. So people were a bit burned out on the "outsider/loner in a new zipcode" premise which is why the ratings were low resulting in HP's cancelation.

But Palm Springs provides a very interesting backdrop to watch the story unfold. All 8 eps of S1 are currently on YouTube for free. Worth a watch.

Smallville: Rogue (2002)
Season 1, Episode 9
10/10
The most underrated episode of Smallville ever
29 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Smallville S1E09 - "Rogue"

Plot - While in Metropolis, Clark is forced to use his powers to stop a bus from crashing. A dirty cop on the Metropolis P.D. witnesses the event and uses it as leverage to blackmail Clark into working for him.

My Thoughts :

People often overlook the first season as a whole, and when people talk about S1, Rogue is never discussed. In my opinion, Rogue is one of the best episodes of the entire show and is definitely the most underrated episode ever.

  • Great Superman mythology and foreshadowing : The scene with the "S" breastplate is fantastic. "I don't really see myself going into battle with that on my chest". The reason the first season is one of my favorite overall seasons is because of the great dialogue the show had back then. The episode also features Clark's first visit to Metropolis. There is a great scene on the outside steps where Clark takes in the city.

  • Awesome FX : These days CGI has become a common factor. However, Clark stopping the bus was one of the best and most realistic FX spots of the show. It looked realistic and there wasn't a lot of CGI used to sell it. Very effective.

  • A fantastic villain : The main theme for S1 was the FOTW (Freak of the Weak) syndrome with Clark taking on a variety of meteor infected people. However, Sam Phaelon is a crooked cop who uses his wits to terrorize Clark. Even though no powers were involved, Phaelon posed a legitimate threat to Clark's way of life. It brought a nice change of pace from the usual FOTW.

  • Clark's relationship with his parents : One of my favorite aspects of the early years, was Clark's relationship with his parents. This episode has many great scenes with Clark and his parents. My favorite being the emotional jail scene between Johnathan and Clark in which Johnathan talks to Clark about not giving into his temper and using his powers to kill.

  • A great cliffhanger ending : Although I won't go into details to avoid spoilers, I will say that this episode has a fantastic cliffhanger ending to it that makes you excited for future episodes.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)
9/10
Definately better than the first film *** SPOILERS
6 July 2004
Warning: Spoilers
I saw Spider-man 2 over the July 4th weekend and I loved it. The special effects were mind blowing. The fight on the train alone was worth the price of the movie. Director Sam Raimi managed to have the feel of the first film, and turn it into something better. All of the actors did a fantastic job in this film, especially J.K. Simmons as Daily Bugle editor and chief Jonah Jameson. Jameson is such a great character, and I loved how he had more scenes the second time around. I also loved the fact that Cliff Robertson came back to do a cameo as Ben Parker in a dream sequence where Peter discusses his feelings on being Spider-man with his dead uncle. The show stealer however, was Alfred Molina as Doc Ock. He managed to turn the character into one of the best villans ever to be seen on screen. Like most villans, he starts out as an honest and nice man, only to wind up letting his emotions get the better of him.

You could tell that Smallville creators Miles Millar and Al Gough wrote the script to the film, because there were elements of Superman in the movie, like Peter running and ripping open his shirt, Peter losing his powers and wanting to become human to be with the woman he loves, etc.. The film also showed the future of Smallville as well by letting us see a super hero's best friend find out his true identity to turn him into an enemy. The film definately had a Superman like feel to it at times. This is not a bad thing though, since Superman is my all time favorite hero.

As good as the film was however, I cannot give it a perfect ten. There were a few things that bothered me about the movie. I just want to note that before I list my few complaints about the film, that I have not read the comic book. If the film follows the events that took place in the comic book, it is hard to hold them against Sam Raimi, because he was trying to be loyal to it.

The first is obviously so many people finding out about Spider-man's true identity. I mean, it is one thing to have Mary Jane find out, as well as Harry. But, to have a whole subway car full of people find out, and then have them swear not to tell anyone? Also, as good as the scenes with Spider-man were, there were not enough of them. The movie should have been called - "Spider-man 2 : The Peter Parker show". Last but not least, is the ending dragging out. I think it would have been great to end the movie, right when Harry discovered the glider and the room with all of the bombs. That would have set up for the third film perfectly. Instead, you have to stretch it out to make sure Mary Jane runs to be with Peter at the end. As others have mentioned, it was also strange, that Mary Jane had a frown on her face at the end of the film.

Overall, I would give the film a solid 9/10, and I highly anticipate the third film.

This film is very underrated
16 February 2004
Ever since I first saw previews for this film, I was excited about it. Anytime the subject of time travel is approached, it usually makes for a good film with the acception of the god awful Time Machine. However, the film did have the critics going against it, and Ashton Kutcher trying to play in a dramatic role.

I finally got to see the movie recently, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the movie turned out to be. While it is not the best time travel film I have ever seen, it was extremely entertaining and suspenseful to see all the different lifetimes being played out. I really enjoyed the fact that Kutcher's character used his mind to travel in time and not a machine. The movie can be frustrating at times. In fact, after the first 20 minutes of the film I had serious doubts. Things would happen, followed by Ashton's Kutcher's character having a blackout right at the moment when an explanation was needed. This left myself and the rest of the audience feeling confused at what was playing out. But after the film gets over the initial speed bump in the beginning, The Butterfly Effect turns into a riveting thriller and everything is explained in the long run. The entire cast did a fantastic job in my opinion. While I still feel that Ashton Kutcher is not a very good actor, he did a lot better than I thought he would, especially considering the fact that he is known for being a comedy actor.

One of the best things about this film was the ending. It was not your typical happy ending. While every character's life turned out for the better, Kutcher's character still experiences loss and regret by how the story turns out. I was very happy with the ending, because it actually manages to leave your emotions feeling conflicted, which gets you thinking about how things could have been. Anytime you leave the theater in discussion about what you would have done differently, it means that the film made an impression on you. That is definately something that The Butterfly Effect manages to do.

I really don't understand the harsh treatment from critics. In Entertainment Weekly, the average grade for this film is a "C-". While The Butterfly Effect does have its flaws, it turned out to be a riveting thriller, with an original take on timetravel and an unpredictable ending.

Very good... but slightly overrated 8.5/10
18 December 2003
Warning: Spoilers
I was able to see this film at the Midnight premiere on Wednesday morning, before it hit the theaters. While I did enjoy the film a lot more than The Two Towers, Fellowship of the Ring is still the best film of the trilogy in my opinion.

***** SPOILER ALERT *********

Pros :

Great battle scenes

Sean Astin was flat out amazing as Sam

Gollum was great

The army of the dead was very cool

Aragon finally accepted his role as king.

Arwen and Aragon end up together

Cons :

No Christopher Lee!!! - He was such a huge character in the two previous films, and in Return of the King, he was simply written off because he had lost his powers.

I was also disappointed with Sauron. He is the driving evil force for the whole trilogy, and he went down so easily. He stayed trapped within the magic eye. I would have loved it, if Sauron would have manifested himself so that him and Aragon could have fought it out. This would have symbolized the ultimate battle for good vs evil perfectly. The sword that was responsible for destroying Sauron was reassembled in Return of the King and given to Aragon to fight with in battle. It would have been very fitting, if Sauron would have had to battle the sword once again. Then just as the ring is destroyed, Sauron is defeated by Aragon.

My biggest complaint about the film was the ending. It was extended unecessarily by at least 20 minutes. The perfect place to end the film, would have been when Aragon said that Frodo, Sam, Pippin, and Meri bowed to no one, and the camera pulled back to show the entire crowd near the castle. Instead, it just kept going and going and going with constant tease after tease. That kind of slowed the pace of the film down for me.

Overall :

The film is not perfect like people are making it out to be, and the film is slightly overrated. But the film is very enjoyable, and provided for a marvelous film going experience. Peter Jackson should be proud of himself, because he did the impossible of bringing Lord of the Rings to the big screen.

How I rank the Lord of the Rings trilogy :

Fellowship of the Ring = 10/10

The Two Towers = 7.5/10

Return of the King = 8.5/10

Cabin Fever (2002)
Cabin Fever is NOT a horror movie!!
20 September 2003
The first thing that I want to get out of the way, is that Cabin Fever is not a horror movie. A lot of the reviews on this site refer to Cabin Fever as a horror film. The movie is not scary at all. The movie is extremely gory. I will give it that. But mindless gore, does not equal horror.

I just came from watching this movie, and I must say that it has to be one of the worst films that I have ever seen in my life. A friend of mine that was with me, likes practically everything that he sees. He even loved "House of 1000 Corpses". However, even he wanted to walk out of the theater. I found myself just praying for the movie to end as time went on. Nothing that happened led to any type of signifigance at all.

The movie was hilarious at some points. I will give it that much. However, it is not supposed to be a comedy. From the great press that this film got, you would think that it was the next "Evil Dead" or something along those lines. Not even remotely close.

So if you want bad acting, extremely annoying and stupid characters, a horrible ending, and basically a plot with no point whatsoever then Cabin Fever is for you. However, if you are a person with any intelligence at all, steer clear of this film at all costs!!

1.5/10 - I added the half a point because of the fact that the film was quite funny at some points and one of the actresses was EXTREMELY HOT!!

Quantum Leap (1989–1993)
My favorite TV show of all time
6 August 2003
Warning: Spoilers
Quantum Leap is without a doubt the best show ever created. The idea behind the show of traveling in time to put the wrong things right is incredibly unique, and they managed to pull it off quite effectively. Each episode was extremely well done, and there was never one episode that I didn't like. That is what impressed me the most about this show. In every TV show, there is always at least a couple of episodes that you think are only average at best. However, with Quantum Leap, they were all excellent. You see Sam play everything from a pregnant woman to a chimp. The best thing of all, was that even though you always knew that Sam would leap out at the end of every episode, you were still kept on the edge of your seat wondering if everything would turn out OK. The show never felt predictable, despite having a predictable formula.

Then you have the outstanding on-air chemistry of Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell. They are the reason this show was so good. Bakula's goody two shoes type attitude and his overall morality played off of Stockwell's sex obsessed and overall ladies' man personality extremely well. In my opinion, Al Callavici is one of the best characters ever created. The guy has done everything, the guy is hilarious, and the guy is obsessed with sex. What's not to love?

This is a show that you will ware your VCR out watching. You can watch the show over and over, and never get sick of it. I have every episode on tape, and I have watched the show many times. I still love it just as much as I did after the first time that I saw it. In my opinion, the show could have gone on for at least two more seasons. Both Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell were willing to do it, and show creator Don Bellasario was ready for it as well. NBC decided not to sign on. With the loyal following the show had, I think that NBC made one of its biggest mistakes ever.

My one complaint was how the show was ended. The main reason people watched the show, was to see Sam return home. In the series finale "Mirror Image" it ends with simply saying "Dr Sam Beckett never returned home".

But overall, Quantum Leap was the best show ever put out on television!!

Dreamcatcher (2003)
Acting suffered, but adaptation was great!!!
24 March 2003
"Dreamcatcher"

Film/ Novel Anaylsis :

"Dreamcatcher" in my opinion is better than any other Stephen King book that I have ever read, with the acception of "The Talisman". Now with that being said, seeing the film was a give-in. I have never seen a film that effectively captured the true essence of his books on screen before. However, Lawrence Kasdan and writer William Goldman managed to do it. The adaptation is AMAZING. Every aspect needed to effectively portray the book on screen was captured. Even down to the smallest detail with things like Beaver's dialogue, and the description of the S**t weasels. You must remember however, that the book is 900 pages and had to be condensed down into a 2hr and 15min movie. With that being said, some aspects of the story had to be shortened. The ending is the only aspect that dissapointed me. It is completely different. But overall, I would have to say that this is the best adaptation of a Stephen King book that I have ever seen.

Special Effects / Action :

The special effects were nicely done. The psychic abilities of the characters were effectively captured on screen, and the s**t weasels were done exactly the way that the book described them. The action was also decent and featured some nice firepower.

Acting :

Morgan Freeman - He plays Abraham Kurtz. In the book, he is a menacing and dispicable villan. So instead of casting an actor who is well known for playing a villan, you cast Morgan Freeman who has done nothing but play a good guy role. It was impossible to take him seriously.

Jason Lee - For Beaver, you cast Jason Lee. He will always be seen as Brody from Mallrats. He served as the film's comic relief. Even when harm is coming to his character, you find yourself wanting to laugh.

Thomas Jane - He stars as Henry. In the book, Henry is the main hero, and is on the edge of committing suicide. Therefore, you need to have an actor that carries a wide variety of emotion. Thomas Jane speaks in a mono-tone for the whole film, and has absolutely no emotion. I felt like I was watching Keanu Reeves.

Kids - The young actors chosen to play Henry, Pete, Beaver, and Jonsey as children did the worst job of all. They had absolutely no skill whatsoever.

Now despite the efforts from Damian Lewis, Timothy Olyphant, Tom Sizemore, and Donnie Whalberg, the acting is the reason the film suffered. That is why I feel the adaptation dissapointed so many people. The story itself was effectively captured from the book. But if the wrong actors are chosen, it won't matter how good the adaptation is.

Score : 7/10

Easily the best film of 2002!!!
28 December 2002
The film is based on the true life story of Frank Abignale Jr (Leonardo DiCaprio)who proved to be the most successful con-man in history by being able to assume several different identities which included a history professor, a lawyer, a doctor, and a Secret Service agent, to cash more than 4 million dollars in fake checks in the United States as well as 26 other countries. Carl Harnatty ( Tom Hanks) is the FBI agent in charge of running the Check Fraud division of the FBI. "Catch Me If You Can" takes us on the exciting and extremely funny cat and mouse chase between the two men.

I have now seen both "Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers", and "Catch Me If You Can." "Catch Me If You Can" is a lot better, and easily the best film of 2002. The film succeeds on so many levels. The first is that the film is based on the amazing true life story of Frank Abignale Jr. He was the most cunning and successful con-man in history, and was able to accomplish everything he did before the age of 19. What makes the film even better, is the fact that it follows extremely close to the novel of the same name, written by Frank himself. The next reason is because of the direction of Stephen Spielberg. The film was paced extremely well, and even though the film is almost 2 1/2 hours, it never seems long, or drawn out. The set designs were also very authentic, and he managed to get the best performances possible out of the actors. This of course leads into the third reason of the film's success which were the amazing performances given from the cast. Leonardo Dicaprio has never really done it for me before. I love his films, but not him. However, he gave the best performance of his career. He is extremely witty and cunning which let him play the different identities of doctor, lawyer, etc so convincingly. Tom Hanks was awesome as Carl Harnatty. He will amaze you with the determination he gives to catch Frank. But he will also make you laugh with his Boston accent, and how naive he can be. At one point, Abignale is able to convince Carl that he is a Secret Service agent working on the case. Alias' Jennifer Garder, Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, and the rest of the cast were all excellent as well. Finally, the film is down right hillarious and fun to watch overall. I was laughing for the whole entire film, and I actually enjoyed watching Frank from one moment to the next.

"Catch Me If You Can" offers an extremely accurate portrayal of Frank's Abignale Jr.'s life, outstanding performances, outstanding direction from Spielberg, and you will laugh harder than you ever have before. If you are having a hard time deciding to what to watch this holiday season, "Catch Me If You Can" is definately a film that you need to see!

Equilibrium (2002)

The Action rivals "The Matrix"!!!!
8 December 2002
Equilibrium blew me away. The action in this film is simply amazing. The gun play, martial arts action, and overall violence was mind blowing. It is fast paced, realistic, and extremely gory. Christian Bale, Emily Watson, and Taye Diggs were the film's main stars, and they were all great. The film's only MAJOR flaw is that the film starts out very slow. But once the action starts, you are glued to the screen for the remainder of the film. Now a lot of people would say that if you want mind blowing action, you should see "The Matrix". But the action in Equilibrium was truely unique. Some of the action sequences were original and have never been done before. Also, the film was set in a futuristic society. The visuals are oustanding and breathtaking at times. I will not say anything about the story, because I don't want to reck it for anyone. However, if you love action films and are looking for something new, then "Equilibrium" is for you!

Waste of Time!!!!!!!
8 September 2002
I was very disappointed with this film. It has a decent cast with the likes of Robert DeNiro and Francis McDormand. However James Franco in my mind always was and always will be a horrible actor. I also like William Forsythe as an actor as well.

Now as much as I like some of the actors in this film, it is horrible. The story moves as fast as a snail on crutches. Everything in this film will put you to sleep. The story , music, and ending included. The ending is so anti climatic you feel like you are ripped off after watching it.

Another thing about it, is that many of DeNiro's roles are focused on upholding the law. It gets kind of repetitive. However, from seeing the trailer to this film, it looked like it was going to be decent. It is anything but though. I found myself checking my watch over and over during the movie. When I see a bad movie in the theater, I like to check my watch to see how long it took to get to the climax of the movie, that gets the ball rolling. It took over an hour in a 100 minute movie, which does not leave much time for anything else. Much of the movie was spent on the unrealistic relationship between father and son.

The one thing that the movie had going for it was Eliza Dukushu. Even in a movie like this where she plays a single mom who is getting over using, she looks amazing! Skip the theater, and watch it on video if you insist on watching it! However, if you do decide to watch it, you feel like you wasted your time.

Green Dragon (2001)

One word... AWESOME!!
7 September 2002
Green Dragon was absolutely amazing. I found it to be very realistic in portraying what it would be like back when the Vietnamese people had to live in the refugee camps.

This film is very touching as well. I loved the relationship between Minh and Addie who is played by Forrest Whitaker. The character Minh is a little boy who is forced to come to America with his uncle and his sister. He is constantly searching the camp for his mother and father. While this is going on, he develops a friendship with Addie. Addie is a cook and a talented artist. Minh and Addie bond because they both like to draw and love comics.

I also liked the other parts of the story as well. Tai's character was great. He plays the camp manager and keeper of the peace. He has to deal with Minh's mother and father not being there and how he had to leave without them.

There are other cool little stories mixed in, but you should watch it for yourself and find out. This really is a very moving film, and it should not be missed.

Majorly Overrated!!!!!
6 September 2002
Warning: Spoilers
***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS*** I want to start off by saying that I was looking forward to seeing this movie. It had all the elements of a great thriller. But that is not what I got to see. This movie was just awful!! Why it got good reviews and why people think so highly of it is beyond me!

SPOILERS!!!!!! :

The film tries to pass Williams off as a man obsessed with one particular family that has been getting their pictures developed by him for 9 years, ever since their kid was born. He works for the local Savesmart as the head of the photolab. However, all the movie does is go into the troubles within the family and show that Robin Williams has a crappy life. Williams is constantly shown saying high to the mother and boy when they come in, running into the mom at the mall, and watching the kid's soccer practice. Up until this point I was falling asleep. All of this that has nothing to do with any thing remotely thrilling lasts for the first hour. The only obsessive thing that they portrayed was a huge wall of every photo that the family has ever developed that Williams has in his apartment. Oh yeah, and when he is not playing Uncle Sy to the family that he likes so much, we get to hear all about how he makes photos, the size of the photos, what makes photos look professionally done and what looks amature.

Then a woman comes into the Savesmart to get pictures developed. Williams thinks that he recognizes her but can't remember where he saw her from. After he gets off of work, he goes to his place and sees this woman's face in a picture dealing with the husband's work. The next day Williams is fired from his job, because of a massive amount of prints missing. Williams always makes an extra set of pictures for himself from every customer, and never marks it down or pays for it. After 11 years they finally find that out. You'd think that it would take them a lot less time to do so.

The next night after he was fired, he goes to the Savesamrt after they are closed. Even though he was fired he still gets to keep his keys. He goes into the photolab, and looks into the woman's pictures. It turns out that the husband is cheating with this woman and there are revealing photos. He takes out the pictures of the husband and his mistress and puts them in with his wife's pictures. She finds out obviously, and then she does nothing and acts like she does not even care.

For the last 30 minutes of the movie, Williams becomes obsessed on making the wife actually care that her husband cheated. So he tracks down the husband and his mistress at the hotel that they sneak off to. He makes them simulate a sex scene by knife point. He takes pictures of everything. Then he leaves the room while both the husband and mistress are fine. Then the cops manage to show up and arrest him.

This takes us to the end of the movie. The movie starts out with Eric Lasalle holding Robin Williams in a holding cell and talking to him. He asks why he was so obsessed with the guy that he went after. He then throws a packet of pictures still in a manilla envelope on the table. That makes the audience wonder right off the bat, what could possibly be in there. Eric's character refers to the pictures as " evidence" that show Robin William's guilt. At the end of the movie, Williams asks if he can have his pictures back. LaSalle lets Williams have his pictures. Now we finally get to see what is in them, thinking that they are off the sex simulation. The pictures were off the hotel bathroom. The shower head, the shower curtain, a towel ,and a bar of soap. Very disappointing!!

4/10 - I give it a 4 for a few funny scenes pulled off by Robin Williams.

The worst movie that I have seen this year, and it is my nomination for worst movie of 2002!

Great murder mystery
24 August 2002
I have to say that I for one enjoyed Blood Simple. It is a simple tale dealing with love, revenge, and murder. I thought that it was very well done, and I liked the characters. While it is not the best film ever made or the best Cohen Brothers film, it gets the job done.

It is deffinately worth watching and I hope that you take the time to.

Blood Work (2002)

Ruins the book's reputation
17 August 2002
The movie Bloodwork is written and directed by Eastwood. While I would never criticize Eastwood's acting ability, he sucks ass as a screenwriter.

The movie did not follow the book at all, and the book is one of the best books I have ever read. If only they could have captured that on film. The only thing that they got right was using the title.

From a movie standpoint, if I had never read the book, I would give it a 7/10. It was a decent murder mystery. But the book brings you into the way McCaleb thinks, and the growing relationship between Graciela and Eastwood.

All I can say, is to read the book. You will get a much better experience from it. The book is written excellently and the story unfolds just perfectly. In the movie many things are rushed and just shoved in to try and resemble the book.

Great Movie, but predictable
21 April 2002
I would have given this film a ten, but I was able to call everyting before it happened, when I saw it in the theater. However, the ending was very well done, and it fit perfectly with the movie. The trouble nowadays is that Hollywood recks great movies with a horrible ending. Not the case here. This was the best who dunnit, since Usual Suspects , and it resembles it in many ways. Go out and see this movie!!

9/10 ( For being predictable)

I can't Believe that it even got a 5!!
20 April 2002
Can somebody please tell me why anyone would want to see this pointless movie?? It is based on a character in Mummy 2, that was in the movie for ten minutes. Doesn't anyone else see that as a waste of money? All that money and time invested in a movie on a ten minute character is STUPID!! The Rock is bad enough in the WWF, let alone on the Silver Screen. This movie should be boycotted to let Hollywood know that all of the intelligent movie fans are not quite gone yet!!

I don't even have to see this movie to know that it will be rated as a 3 tops!!

ROCKY SUCKS!!!

Great Movie!!!
31 March 2002
This movie is freakin hilarious and deserves much better than a 5.7 rating!!! I mean how can you not love watching Robert Downey Jr trying to bull**** his way out of f****ng two different chicks!!! Plus when he fakes his own suicide to get both of his girlfriends feel sorry for him is the funniest I have ever seen! He claims to do it because he wants to make a point. Then he replies that it was f***ed up, but oh well.

This is a must see!!

This movie is God Awful
11 March 2002
I love the concept of time travel, and I try to see every movie created on the subject, however Time Machine falls short, way short. For one thing the movie is only 90 minutes long and is supposed to cover 800,000 years of history. Three places are visited, and the majority of the movie is spent in a place that looks like the past that is 800,000 years in the future. This place is based on two different species spawing because of the moon falling.

The movie really has nothing to do with time travel. The book cannot be that bad, and I hope that if I get a chance to read it, it will be a lot better. I want to rent the original and compare it!

Horrible movie!

2/10

I give it a two because Guy Pearce is an awesome actor and because Memento is one of my favorite movies. It had two much of Orlando Jones in a serious role, when he is a comedic actor. Hell Jeremy Irons is a major charcter, and only has a 10 minute role. Just two many things happen that either not explained or don't make any sense for the movie. The one scene that comes to mind is where Jeremy Iron's character is going to let Guy Pearce leave in the time machine, and for no reason he attacks him. The one thing that Guy Pearce forgets is the only way to change the past is in the past, not the future.

One of the Funniest Movies Ever
25 February 2002
This is by far one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen. The Good Will Hunting parody is done to perfection and is the best part of the movie. Also the cameo from Jason Biggs is hillarious. I also liked the Mark Hamil cameo, when he fights Kevin Smith in the Star Wars scene. It was also great how they managed to tie it in to all of his other movies.

Plus the movie had great looking women as well. Plus , when I watched the DVD, i discovered that one of the girls in the gang is Kevin Smith's wife. Man is she hot!

I give this movie a 10/10 and I reccommend it to anyone who is looking for a laugh. Plus I reccommend that you buy the DVD as soon as it comes out, because it is a great 2 disc set that has 41 deleted scenes, two featurettes, two music videos, a gag reel, and much more.

Memento (2000)

One of the Best Movies Ever Made!
26 July 2001
Memento is by far one of the best movies ever made. It is a shame that it was limited to such a small amount of theaters. Finally a movie that actually lives up to the hype. Nothing is as it seems in this movie, and the audience gets to experience exactly what Leonard Shelby does. Plus the fact, that the audience sees everything backwards, only adds to the effect of the movie.

Another great thing about it, is that there was finally a movie, that was not runied by a horrible ending. The ending actually made sense and fit the movie perfectly. This is the best " who done it" film I have seen since Usual Suspects. I don't usually see movies twice in the theater, but I am going to see it again as soon as possible.

10 / 10 !!!!

Wow !! Waters' best film since Serial Mom!
24 January 2001
I just saw this movie and all I have to say is wow, what a movie. It was incredibly funny. It is supposed to be a crazy action flick, but it is hilarious, and it has a great plot. All movie fans should get a kick out of it. Action and Porno flicks are celebrated, while family films are made out to be the worst ever created. The spoof on Forrest Gump two was hilarious. Overall, a great movie.

Great Movie, But Ending Lacked
21 January 2001
Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie. It had great fight scenes and a great plot for the man to get his lost love back and a new one forming between Li Mui Bi, and the other fighter woman. What I felt the film's down spots were, was when there was too much detail on how the princess and lo met, and the flying was a little but exagerated. Plus, I hated the ending. Chow You Fat dies, and then the princess jumps off of the edge and flies away leaving her love behind? It made no sense. The whole movie spends time trying to develop a romance between Chow Yun Fat and the other woman, and then he dies before it gets a chance to take off. Overall I gave the movie a 7 out of 10. It had great fight scenes, and a lot of great special effects. However, the story was a bit slow at times and the ending sucked. It is deffinately not the best movie ever, but a good one all the same.

One Of The Best Movies Ever
20 January 2001
I have always loved time travel movies. Back to the Future, Somewhere in

Time, Timecop, and my favorite tv show Quantam Leap, but Frequency was

that and more. It involved the travel of information through time and

it lets you see what happens when time is messed with. Plus, I love the

father/ son angle of the movie. It is very touching to see a son who

never really knew his dad, connect with him that way. The film keeps

you going and will touch your heart. I give this movie a 10 +++. One of

my favorite movies ever. It is the only movie at Blockbuster that I

have ever seen with a you will love it guranteed or your money back

offer, and so far no one has complained because I work at one.

The Best Mafia Movie Ever
20 January 2001
I can never get tired of watching this film. Robert Dinero, and Joe Pesci are great. What I do not understand is why Ray Liota's career did not take off better. He does a great job as Henry Hill, and he has not been in anything exciting in a long time. The way that this movie shows the mob and how it works is great. A must see!
