... But it could have been better. Honestly the run time didn't bother me. I felt it moved along pretty well. Seeing their journeys for their special parts of the past was cool, but that's also where it falls to pieces.
The special effects weren't that special and at times just downright cheesy and laughable. Many of the incarnations Pennywise takes whole haunting them look like were taken out of an 80s horror film with poor stop motion and cgi work.
Did I like it? Overall I would say yes. Would I recommend it to someone else? Not really.

I want to like it.

The premier just seemed to drag on as I waited for something, anything, worth watching to happen. I'm not sure which is worse, another angsty teen as a TV lead, or Quinto's "old man" character. I'll probably give it another shot and see where it goes from there.
The only part I truly enjoyed was some little Easter eggs on a map with Pennywise Circus, Lovecraft Keyhole, and Tree House of the Mind.

So familiar...

It's like they took the plot of Firefly and put a Wookie in it. There's sarcasm, gunslinging, double crosses and even a train heist. Except everything that was good about Firefly they took out and crapped on and this is what is what was left.
