Undervalued movie!
Such an incredible amount of negative reviews surprises me! I actually enjoyed this movie! Only people who want everything perfectly dished up might be disappointed not getting all the answers they want. I assume the movie makers have a higher esteem of their audience by entrusting them with the things they did show us. Instead of giving us all details on the pollution scandal, they focused on how these people (or at least Matti) dealt with finding out about them. The filming and the sound probably made up for the lack of depth (which I never denied) and overall it made me enjoy this movie as I did. In order to deepen it out it would be cool if the makers would consider creating a mini series.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Nice reunion of actors!
Nice reunion of actors and hey, guess what... they made us all be part of it! Such a nice gesture!:) As a movie not the best (at all) and without having seen the original it would even make no sense at all to watch but practically all of the cast back together after more than 30 years is truly a nice thing to see and enjoy. See it just like that: a nice reunion of actors as kind of a confirmation you were not the only one who was still thinking about the original and who has still regularly been using the movie quotes over the past decades. As a movie on it's own: 5/10. As an enjoyable enough reunion: 7/10.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Makes you feel all into it!!
In one word: Magnificent! This movie is a masterpiece! It soaks you up and it leaves you behind feeling hopeful for ways which at first didn't seem to be there.. a really fantastic movie you definitely should see! Morgan Freeman, once again, showing how much of a big actor he is! *thumbsup to the cast & crew*
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)
Great movie!
I am not familiar with Indian cinema / Bollywood movies and I think this is the first movie I ever saw of this kind. It took me over three hours to watch it entirely(3h10m) but there was not even one moment I was bored! Basically it's a love-story about a boy (Raj) who meets a girl (Simran). They start to like eachother and this even goes further, they both feel they're destined to eachother and their friendship grows to love. Simran, though, is about to be given in marriage by her parents to a guy who lives back in India. What happens next is being told in a beautiful and exciting love-story which I can really recommend to see for anyone! The traditional costumes in the movie and the Indian music and dance make clear what's so different about these kind of movies (this one's one of a kind, though, I am sure!) compared to Hollywood-productions. I very much liked it anyway! Only positive comments are not to be taken seriously so I should think of any negative things. Lemme think... it'll probably be on the technical part of the movie. Fighting scenes are obviously all 'fake' (missed kicks and punches), the singing parts (especially Simran's) are obviously lip-synched. Some editing might have been done better, maybe in part two??;) Don't pay too much attention to these last lines because I (as a white European guy) still recommend this movie very much!! GO SEE IT!! (and ´judge´ it yourself)

Rain Man (1988)
Autistic Hoffman in one of his best-ever roles!!
Great movie about Charlie Babbit (Cruise) who finds out about the existence of his older autistic and highly-gifted brother Raymond (Hoffman) after their father died. Charlie wants to get his share out of the $ 3 million inheritance his father left Raymond. Recorded in California, Ohio, Oklahoma, Indiana, Kentucky and Nevada this movie is a masterpiece when it comes to photography as well. A must-see!
The Eruption of Mount St. Helens! (1980)
Interesting documentary with live-footage!
The first time I saw this movie I was in Castle Rock, WA. I was in the theatre with the rumbling seats. After seeing this movie it was an even more interesting trip to the actual place where it all happened... 'Mount Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument' is a very interesting and impressive daytrip you'd defenitely visit when you're in the Northwest. Leave I-5 at Castle Rock and first go see the movie... it'll show you the history of all what happened back in 1980.
Noah's Ark (1999)
Don't watch it... better read the Bible...
I just wanted to say that I was very disappointed after seeing this movie! I was expecting a Biblical story visualized with great special fx, etc. but during the film I found out that this was an absolute disaster... it wasn't biblical at all... only the boat and the animals were similar to the story... if you want a visual 'translation' of the Bible version of Noah then DON'T go watch this movie!
