Liberty Heights (1999)
Excellent Telling of History...
I will admit that I originally wanted to see this film because I have been a huge fan of Ben Foster since his Flash Forward days of Disney, and a fan of David Krumholtz since his Chicago Sons series. I adore them both and I think they're wonderful actors. So, I thought, this movie must be worth seeing. I really hadn't heard too much about it. I just saw it. I loved it. The acting is superb. I love the plot. It touched my heart. It showed how Jews and African Americans were treated then. And the ignorance of people when it comes to color or religious beliefs. I think Levinson captured it beautifully. A Jewish family going through trials and being so daring and unashamed of their heritage and belief. I loved it. I can't stress how much I loved it. SEE IT. Its a beautiful piece of art. Katrina B.
Round the Twist (1989)
I LOVED this show!
This show had a run one summer on Fox and I watched EVERY DAY! I was obsessed. I also had a slight crush on Pete Twist played by Sam Vandenburg. I happened to remember his name and look him up on here and was surprised to see that Round the Twist was on here! Nobody I've ever met saw that show unless I made them watch it when I was watching it so often. I was quite mad when they took it off. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I too, would buy it if they sold it on video! My favorite episode was "Without My Pants" (I think that was the title) That was hilarious. :o) If anybody has any info on this show or the actors in it, please contact me. Thanks! Katrina
Outside Providence (1999)
Excellent movie!
I thoroughly enjoyed Outside Providence. Its a classic example of teenage angst and struggle that is present in every decade. The fact that it was in the 70s was even better. :o) The situations the characters were in were definitely suited toward the decade. Shawn Hatosey was excellent as Timothy Dunphy. His performance was very heartfelt and you just fell in love with him. You felt sorry for the way his family life was and then even worse as he struggled at the academy with Mr. Funderburk. Drugs Delaney played by John Abrahams had me falling out of my seat with laughter! The scene as the headmaster read the letter that Drugs sent to Dunph was the funniest thing I've seen in awhile! lol Anyhow, I definitely recommend this movie! It was an extremely heartfelt piece that will make you laugh and will make you cry. Enjoy! :o)
