The Skulls (2000)
Good, but could have been a lot better.
Ok, The Skulls wasn't the best movie in the world, but, I gotta give it this...it was a good murder mystery. Then again, it really wasn't a mystery, to the audience because we knew what was going on.
Let me put it this way: For the charactors in the movie it was a murder mystery. For us, it was one of those, "Oh, You knew that was gonna happen" movies.
The strong points to this movie was, a well selected cast, and a few clever suspence scenes,
The main weak points (which really hurt the movie) had to have been the fact that it was very predictable, and the cinemetography wasn't the best in the world. I'm not sure if it was just me, but I thought the cinemetography could have been a whole lot better.
Either way, I would reccomend it,but you have to have a reletively opened-mind to buy into it.
Man on the Moon (1999)
Fantastic Cinema
Few dramas have come along that I, as a 14-year-old can really enjoy. Man on the Moon is not only one of the best dramas I've seen in a while, but it's probably number 2 on my all time favorite movies list (A close second to Life is Beautiful). Anyone who hasn't seen this film should definately do so. It's well worth going to see over and over and over and over and over again.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Disappointing.
Now, I am a huge Star Wars fan. When the new movie came out I was all psyched about seeing it I couldn't wait. But i was very disappointed when I saw it. The filmmakers focused on the effects too much, which killed the storyline. The acting was good, the effects were good (don't get me wrong), but they were used way too much. Now if you're one of those Star Wars freaks who would pay $50 to see a sold out Star Wars movie at 1:00 in the morning, then you'll love this one. If you're like me, who'se a relatively big Star Wars fan, you may or may not like it. But if you are don't care for it that much, avoid it.
Trading Places (1983)
This film's fantastic!
Trading Places joins The Blues Brothers, A Fish Called Wanda, and Back to the Future as the top comedies that came out of the 80's. No review needed, just a VCR, a TV, and about 2 hours to fully enjoy this classic film.
