Jingle All the Way (1996)
Unmissable Christmas-Movie
This Arnold flick is so great in countless ways. Mainly because it is a kick in the nuts to our modern commercial Christmas. After seeing this movie, you have to admit that our way of celebrating Christmas is a tragic joke.
It shows all these obnoxious little brats, brainwashed by commercials and selfish dreams. It shows the desperation of their parents, dying to satisfy needless means.
It shows the decay of the western society, filled with egoism and evil. Arnold is extremely funny, and the rest of the cast is great for this story.
A great scene is when Arnold punches a raindeer in the face. This is just what this movie is - a knockout for Santa.
Every person who`s planning a materialistic Christmas (that means everybody)ought to see this brilliant movie. This is naturally no favorite among those who prefer a commercial Christmas, but I don`t think YOU want to stay in that group......not after "Jingle all the Way".
Merry non-commercial and more religious Christmas!
The Sixth Sense (1999)
A fantastic experience
This is clearly one of the best movies of the year, along with Matrix and Fight Club. What makes it so special is the incredibly complex story, the great cast and the dark style. You can watch it over and over, you will not be able to find any weaknesses in the entire movie. The story manages to combine emotional themes with stunning fear and darkness. It will scare you like "the exorcist" and thrill you like "the shawshank redemption". It is nice to see that there is finally a young actor with REAL talent. We have had enough of those terrible grown-up-wannabes like Jake Lloyd. Osment is very realistic, and together with the rest of the cast he gives you a great performance. The dark style creates an atmosphere that keeps you nailed to the screen. It is good to finally see a horror film without teen-slashing and cheap effects.
The Sixth Sense - Watch it and love it. "10"
Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991)
A lesson in bad movie making
I am a true fan of action films. A movie can be a thrill without a great story or cast. But this movie is one of the worst I have ever seen. Even if you turn off your mind, it still sucks.
Here is why: The film has no story, just a lot of sex and violence scenes added together. The action scenes are miserable, with ridiculous fight-scenes. There are no real acting - just two guys trying to be SO cool, and a bunch of bad guy-wannabes and bimboes. Another annoying thing is all the stupid editing mistakes. In one scene they zoom in on a "screaming" dummy, and the doubles are never close to resemble their characters. All the laughable one-liners makes it as bad as a movie can get.
This movie is just another terrible excuse for showing sex and violence. Who can possibly enjoy watching these crappy movies? The makers should be ashamed of themselves...
Deadfall (1993)
Nicolas Cage Rules!!!
There is only one great thing about this movie, but this makes it all worth watching: Nicolas Cage as Eddie! This is truly his ultimate character. When you see Cage in action, you will truly realize that he is the greatest and coolest actor EVER. The way he affects the film by just being there is just so impressive. Still, the plot is nothing special, and the rest of the cast is only fair. (This is no reason to avoid it) Deadfall proves that Cage handles more than blockbusters like Face/Off, The Rock and City of Angels, movies that most people associate him with.
So if you are a true Cage-fan, DO NOT MISS DEADFALL!!! Also check out "Vampire`s Kiss" and "Raising Arizona".
Both AWESOME examples of the Movie Phenomenon Nicolas Cage.
Vampire's Kiss (1988)
Freestyle Nicolas Cage
In this movie Nicolas Cage does what he does best. Completely freaks out in his own special way. A wickedly funny and immensely deep movie. You can watch it as a thriller about love affecting the human mind, or as a comedy about a man going crazy.
If you`re ready for a horror movie, this is not it; But if you want a unique movie-experience totally unlike anything you`ve ever seen, go for Vampire`s Kiss.
A TRULY FANTASTIC MOVIE!
