Pizza (2000)
left in the box a bit too long but still funny
i've only seen it a couple of times and each time i tell myself ' i have no idea why i am watching this ' but the stupidity of it all makes me laugh, kind of 'so bad it's good'. Yeah the directing is hopeless and the scripts leave a lot to be desired but the dopey expressions on the faces of pauly and sleek help them get away with it. The jokes are way too literal, and i'm not the sort of person that laughs at ANYTHING so i have no idea why i think it's ok but it is (everyone i know thinks this show completely sucks)!!
The Unguarded Moment (1956)
classic esther williams
An extremely enjoyable film which sees Esther Williams battle the stereotype of the single woman in the not-so-fabulous '50s. For anyone who prefers the noir side of 1950s cinema (ie Cape Fear as opposed to Oklahoma) it portrays both the dark side of human nature and the seething naivety of the decade. After hearing about Esther's biography it was amusing to see her in a role which so strongly defended her sexual innocence!
40 Pounds of Trouble (1962)
Hollywood loves a remake
This is pretty much a redo of little miss marker, it's better than the walter matthau version although it may not beat the shirley temple one ;) Movies always seem to look better in technicolour. A good excuse for Tony Curtis to take the crew to disneyland.
