Vertical Limit (2000)
Technically inept Hollywood treatment of mountain bagging full of product placement.
The stuffed bird on a string effect at the beginning of the movie was the first alert that this was going to stink!
Your powers for `suspension of disbelief' had better be in top form if you want to enjoy this one. If there was a technical climbing expert giving advice for this they must have put their head in their hands on day one and just given the nod to any old thing that took the director's fancy after that.
Slim story line padded out with the desperate family guilt, girl meets boy, will they all die oh no its going to be ok for the few still breathing at the end.
Product placement is rife throughout. Does a survival rate of 3 out of 13 really encourage anyone to get out there and share the experience?
Nice scenery - I'm from NZ I have to say that. Shame it didn't add to the film greatly.
If you want a mountain movie watch Cliff Hanger. If you really want a mountain adventure/thriller read Touching The Void by Joe Simpson.

Learn Welsh!
One of the few films where my years learning Welsh gives me the advantage over the majority of viewers.
F****** Excellent!
If you don't understand the dialogue just go with the flow it will all become clear in time.
