Well...acting could have been better..

This movie was somewhat entertaining. There's more bits and pieces of many different plot ideas instead of one basic plot. I was a little offended that there was so much female nudity in this movie. I think it was sexist, and made mainly for men, which isn't right. The worst thing about this movie was the poor acting. The characters barely showed any emotion, and when they did, it was brief. Even though the movie was mildly entertaining, it never got you really interested. This movie deserves a 2 on a scale of 1-10.

The Mod Squad (1999)

Ok, I know the lighting wasn't good, the acting could've been better, and the plot...well, the plot could've been better, but, is it really THAT bad? I rented this thinking, "Wow! This is going to be terrible!" But, I actually liked it. Don't watch this movie just to see a good remake of the old show (I haven't even seen the old show though...) and don't watch it just to see a good movie period, but just watch this movie one day, when you have had a good day, and you are relaxed, and just sit back and watch it just plainly, because, it's funny, and cool. That's all that is good about it... It's just simple, and actually fun to watch... just trust me if you haven't seen it, just rent it and give it a try, but just watch it for fun, and to laugh...

Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)

Bad...very...very...BAD =(

I never have been more bored out of my mind, I have never laughed so hard at something... The Exorcist II... This movie was pitiful. I had seen the first one, and found it impressive. It wasn't scary to me, but, still, it was quite freaky, and for a movie of its time, I was very impressed! The sequel however, failed to do anything... I thought maybe Regan might have had traumatizing moments, like, flashbacks, withOUT a machine's help. And maybe they could've had someone else possessed, to take Regan back to the memories, or maybe... even... SHE could become possessed again, but, this movie failed to do anything creative like that. All the movie was about was locust bugs, and that was all. I got to the point to where I began to think this movie had NOTHING at all to do with the first one. It was boring, and badly made. I think it was a definitely good idea to make a sequel, but... they should've just made the sequel good... =)

Bordello of Blood (1996)

Well, not AS bad as I expected... but not as good as Demon Knight... =)

Ok, I am a female, so I really got annoyed by all the nudity in it of women... but, besides that, I think people are being too hard on this movie... If you rent a Tales From The Crypt movie, don't expect something very good... but I was a little dissapointed when I saw this, because I think Demon Knight is about one of the best horrors made, and I was surprised that their second film was far different than Demon Knight... This one, Bordello Of Blood, was more funny than anything (quite funny humor I must admit at some points in the movie) with gore, that's all it was, funny and bloody, I was shocked that this movie really didn't have a real plot to it (none that I realized anyway) except obviously, there was vampires, and they wanted them dead... Did I miss something? In Demon Knight, there was a strong plot, great acting, (Especially, Billy Zane...) And funny, gory, exciting, etc., but this was just... pretty plain. If you are expecting a good vampire movie out of this, go watch something else... may I recommend John Carpenter's Vampires? A more serious, believable vampire movie =), but hey, COME ON... this movie isn't THAT bad... is it? The whole idea of it was dumb, and I think made for men, and that isn't fair to us female fans of Tales From The Crypt... am I missing something? Well, maybe the "boss" the cryptkeeper IS a guy, I guess he has say-so about what is put in the movies...

Cruel Intentions (1999)

Very cool, never boring, and I highly recommend it!

I just rented this movie, and I was surprised to find what I saw in it. I had heard all the critics and everyone saying how "bad" it was in a porno way, but I was surprised, that it wasn't bad at all! I am only 14, and they said that absolutely no one under that age should see it, but I disagree. This is not as bad as every one would assume. I only found one fault with this movie. Towards the beginning, it flashes onto a couple separate scenes, which were kind of humerous looking to an extent, which really didn't belong in this movie. I found other humor in this movie to be enjoyable, it's just childish humor that makes you laugh because it looks funny just doesn't belong w/ such a serious plot. Although, this movie was extremely well acted, and I was pleased to realize that Sarah Michelle Gellar can be other darker parts besides her regular "Buffy" character. Ryan Phillipe played a character that was different than any other I have witnessed. He was dark, mean and you should've hated him (At least the first half of the movie) but there was something about him that you just had to like. This of all movies had to have about the best ending of any movie I have seen. It was obviously thought out and creative. Not like you had expected. I really liked how they would get a line in the movie repeated later for a hidden message, like at the beginning, w/ the therapist. (I need not mention, because I wouldn't want to give it away...) Anyway, to sum my oppinion all up, I strongly recommend this movie, for the romantic story, for the drama, and yes, they do have comedy in it, just more better comedy than you usually see, not the ditzy type, although, I do enjoy those types of movies too, I am really interested in the summaries for this movie!

The Haunting (1999)

Very shocking, never boring... yet... sometimes, the special effects were humerous...

This movie was quite shocking and outstanding. Don't get me wrong, the special effects were good, it's just that... sometimes, they didn't fit the movie that well, it made the audience lightly laugh, including myself, at the odd, and funny looking special effects that didn't belong in such a creepy movie. Like when the stone statues turned around, they were animals like hawks and that just didn't fit with all the scary house stuff. The villain ghost should have been more scary than the house itself, or close somewhat... but, that ghost wasn't scary, or evil looking at all, when in spirit form. I cannot critisize the scariness of it though. I am a serious horror movie lover. Basically, you name it, I've seen it. Although, no horror has created such a scary fear level such as this one. Every noise you hear in this movie once you have reached the middle to the end, sends chills down your spine. And, I can't give this away, nor warn of the surprise, but there is a sudden shocking scene, where something "pops" out that made everyone including myself, jump out of the seat and scream. Seriously, every one screamed, and later, when that area where it happened was being approached, I could hear people mumbling, "Oh no, please say that isn't going to happen again...?" All in all, this movie is so good. I would recommend this to anyone who needs, and will get a good scare if they watch this. =)

The Exorcist (1973)

It's a good movie... but was I supposed to be scared?

Ok, so it's a good horror... but it wasn't scary. I know though that it is probably a scary film for others, but I am 14 years old, and usually watch more recent horror movies like Species II... where the gore and things like that are common. There are plenty of movies out there that are more scary than The Exorcist. Wait though, I have to give the film credit, that this movie did freak me out though. But not in a good way. I was shocked at the bad and vulgar things in this movie. I mean, what about that little scene where the girl is getting raped by the Catholic cross thing? It's what the "devil" possessing her was saying that was so bad, and that shocked me that anyone could actually make a movie, and make a child actress say those things. But all in all, it is a cool horror movie, that is greatly made and anyone that likes horrors, and wants to give this movie a chance, (note to yourself: this isn't going to scare you though) I say, go for it. It's a good movie for it's time. I have noticed though that people have been complaining about this movie not being as scary as they thought. oh, Pleeease! Keep in mind this movie was made in 1973... so.. umm... it won't be as scary to people like me that sees this movie today in time, but still, it is freaky and cool. Rent this today! =) My votes?

AGE THAT YOU SHOULD BE TO SEE THIS FILM: i'd say 14... HOW GOOD IT IS: i'd give it an 8/10 HOW SCARY IT IS: umm... 1 being= it wouldn't scare a baby, to 10 being= it would scare the crap right out of you... i would give it a 5.

RENT THIS TONIGHT... BUT ONE THING, DON'T EXPECT A SCARE FEST.

Psycho (1998)

Oh come on now! Anyone that doesn't like this movie just a little... you gotta be too harsh!

ok, ok... i know this movie isn't a masterpiece, but in my oppinion this movie is better than the original, with all respect, IT'S IN COLOR! that's just one reason why it's much more fun to watch. well, here... let me list them for you... : 1. Vince Vaughn gives you a more softer Norman Bates, (at the beginning...) a more likeable Norman Bates, the kinda guy (keep in mind i mean at the beginning) who reminds you of an innocent little child, yet in the original, Norman Bates seems even at the beginning, an edgy, creepy guy who you wouldn't want to stick around with for a long period of time... 2. In the original... like i said before... it's in black and white. Now maybe i am just not old fashioned, but i know, all those non-color scenes eventually put you to sleep. I know i fell asleep watching the original. In the second one, a beautiful use of colors on things such as clothes, etc. bring less dragging, plain scenes. 3. Don't even attempt to say that this one seems too 60'ish. Trust me... if you even paid attention to the movie, there are many things added to give it a more 90's appeal. like in one scene, the sister says, "Let me go get my walkman" when they were about to go searching for the detective or something, and then, there is an added detail in the "peep hole" scene that definitely wasn't in the first. Anyway, i think this movie didn't really need adjusting for the 90's anyway... ok, ok, this summary is getting quite long, i could list things for hours to come, trust me... but i won't. take my word for it... this is a goooooooooood remake! well, actually, if anyone is not sure rather to rent it or not...

my vote? 10/10-- that's right! 10 OUT OF 10!

Bride of Chucky (1998)

Ok... it was well... funny...

I rented this movie expecting to see a horror movie... what i got was a comedy. i am not complaining at all. the over all writing and plot was good, the gore and killings were done well and creative, and the movie made you laugh. also, nice camera angles and the ways the movie was put together was great. it's just not one of those, WOW! I'M SCARED! movies. it just wasn't scary at all. this movie is even appropriate for small children, if you don't mind all the language, sex, drug use... well, maybe it's not for small children... but, hey-- i am 14 and it didn't gross me out one bit... although... neither did Species II... and that movie made some people sick to their stomaches.. but anyway, i have gotta admit, the movie all in all was cool, it was never boring, always action happening even up to the last second, so... rent this movie if you want to see a funny doll go on a killing spree, and bring his wife with him... and if you want a cool surprise twist at the end. hahaha. My vote? 1-being well, the telletubbies freak me out more than this, or 10- i will be shaking the rest of my life, i give it a 4/10

Jawbreaker (1999)

First of all, I want to express, ok... on the previews of this movie, they made this like, movie like, look like a total, like, ditzy movie, but like, it isn't k? Really, this movie has a good plot to it. People of all ages can enjoy this movie. I am proof, I am 14, and love it... and since it was R, and I saw it in theaters, believe it or not, my grandmother saw it with me, and she loved it as much as me... this is not another air head movie. The comedy in this is funny, and makes you laugh. This movie expresses just how hard it is to survive at school. How sometimes, the most "perfect" people have some flaws.This movie can, yes, even teach you that popularity isn't everything, and that, yes, it is better to tell the truth. This has a good story to it, and you feel for the individual characters, and even though, this movie is close to perfection as it seems, i did notice there were scenes where dumb sound effects and pointless jokes and images were added to get a few laughs... this is the only thing though... may i add, the soundtrack rocks too! In my opinion, this is a good movie for all ages, and is appropriate for ages 12-80! =) rent this movie tonight, trust me, one viewing is not enough! my grade for it? 10.0\10.0!

The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999)

#1 movie of all time

Not many words can describe this masterpiece. Not exaggerating... this has to be my absolute favorite movie of all time. All I have to say is anyone that doesn't like this movie must be pretty tasteless. This is not only a very cool gore-fest at the end... Throughout the movie, there's a tear-jerking, sad, greatly written plot throughout the movie. I found myself seeing this movie for my second time in the theater crying at numerous parts of the movie. This movie makes you feel more for it than Titanic. So if you aren't a big fan of horror movies, trust me... see this movie for the story... it's worth it... well, there's no more words to describe the greatest movie of all time

(REMEMBER: The movie The Rage: Carrie 2 comes out to video July 20th! Rush to the nearest video store a.s.a.p. to rent it!)

Wild Things (1998)

Hey...it might be a porno...but it still deserves respect!

Ok, this movie has sex in it. A lot of it. But because of that no one is recognizing this movie for the geniously written plot, that keeps you on the edge of your seat, guessing up until the last second of the movie. Who ever created this movie must have a lot of talent and must be pretty intelligent. Some people complain about all the sex in it... but really, everything can't be perfect in a movie with this plot. It was a good idea, and no matter what people say, there is no other way really to make this movie avoiding all those "scenes", could it? Most porno's today have no point and are senseless, but this has a good story to it... there's comedy and suspense, and sometimes, strong drama. All in all, this is a very cool movie, and it is necessary to watch if you are in a mood for a murder movie that keeps you wondering "how?"

Species II (1998)

Come On! Admit it... this is a great movie

Ok... I understand this had needless sex scenes and horrifying, make you wanna-gag gore levels, but what I don't understand is why anyone would go see this movie and expect nothing like this. I am a teenager... that's the main targeted age group for R rated movies nowadays... so believe me, I have seen my share of sex scenes, but you have got to admit, as an R rated movie watcher, are the sex scenes really as bad as everyone is saying they are? Next thing, if you go to a sequel for a movie where the original was pretty gory, aren't you going to expect for the sequel to be a few times worse? People need to give this movie a break and realize that a lot of time and effort went into making this movie, and you can't go complain about a good constructed gore fest movie, when you went to that movie for the exact same reason to begin with, knowing it was going to be terribly gory. Don't be such a harsh critic and hate this movie! Sure the acting wasn't all that great... but isn't it hard to act a role perfectly when you have to pretend there's a horrible alien standing in front of you or ripping out of you? We have to realize acting in horror roles are harder than they seem to be? if you are a horror movie lover, and like to get scared, please rent this, it has a good plot and great special effects.

Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995)

Billy--Zane! Billy--Zane! Billy--Zane!

This is a very good movie... personally, Billy Zane's best movies he has played in... Not like the show, Tales From The Crypt, this movie shows horror, drama, sadness, laughter, did i mention, for some of us sensitive people... a tear-jerker at the end... yes, i'll admit it...at the end, I cried, and that shows surprizingly, this movie does put emotions in here.

Not your typical Tales From The Crypt!: *This movie unlike the show, which occasionally is funny, when you consider that annoying, screeching Crypt Keeper as funny, places comedy in this movie Demon Knight. If I could name the top 3 horror movies, this would be one of them, (note: The Rage, Carrie 2, and Species II are others) because, it's gory, yes, but it has the scary type of horror too, that makes you jump and scream...when things jump out of nowhere. Someone did a good job constructing what the demons looked like, too. All I have to say is... Go rent this movie!
