Destination Vegas (1995)
Horrible
So what was so bad about this movie...the editing, the car chases, the out of sequence parts which don't work since you barely care about where the story is going, why on earth would you care how they got there, the dialogue was ...well let me sum it up with a bit of philosophy from the character Texas "when it's your time to die, you're gonna die." Speaking of Texas his accent was bad and annoying. At least they got it right with an ending that was perfect for a movie this bad....a drive down Fremont street with the same recording being heard as if they were sitting in front of the TV listening to it and not driving several blocks down a busy road in Vegas and a bust in the room in a nick of time, frantic, gun waving, predictable, pathetic finish. Oh and the main character had nice legs, so her law firm business attire consisted of a skirt with a slit up to her ears. Too bad the guy that worked on this movie won't go into more detail about the making of this movie, there is no question that would be 100 times more interesting than the movie.
Golfballs! (1999)
About what you'd expect.
Going in you have to expect a weak story, bad acting, some terrible lines, a lot of fake breasts and a very pretty young leading lady who is constantly scantily dressed but always dressed and halfway through the movie she becomes the only one you want to see topl ess, but you never do. This movie delivers on all accounts, but does keep the bad acting and ridiculous lines within reason and the flow of topl ess women is pretty steady. Certainly not the worst movie of this type, but not the best either. It's watchable at best.

Miss Congeniality (2000)
Serves It's Purpose
This is a somewhat funny light movie, that is enjoyable to watch. As far as plotline goes the only plot that was given much thought was Bullock going from tomboy FBI agent to beauty queen and the same goes for character development. Bullock's is not the only good performance in this movie (Caine's is very good), but her character and the events surrounding her character specifically were the only ones given much thought.
I give it a 6 for being watchable throughout and funny at times. But there really isn't anything else there.
Can't Buy Me Love (1987)
Be careful what you wish for you just might get it.....
I guess in the case of this movie you could say "you might get what you paid for". The messages in this movie are pretty clear. They are made easy to identify by many simple one dimensional supporting characters and a few scenes devoted to clearly spelling a message out. This movie is extremely stereotypical, but it was made in and about a very stereotypical time, so I don't think they went too far in portraying these characters as their stereotypes and little else. The messages and characters will seem very familiar to those of us who grew up and went to high school in the 80's, but may be be lost on teenagers today. All of that said this is basically a pretty good movie, that I can never turn off when I happen to catch it on cable. The performances are very good by the main characters and reasonably good by some of the supporting characters and the scenes move well without any wasted time. There is very little build up to any of the movies scenes, so there is really something going on all the time.
Not in the same class as The Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles, but very watchable and enjoyable.
This Is Spinal Tap (1984)
This movie is why everyone now knows 11 is 1 louder than 10
McKean, Shearer and Guest do an hysterical potrayal of a hapless aging metal band in this "rockumentary".
Everything that could go wrong does go wrong from album releases to hotel reservations, from the inability to find stage entrances to stage props, from the ill fate of there several ex-drummers to a dwindling fan base. Yet the band members go virtually unfazed by these major indications of their decline due largely to the reassurance of their manager. His reassurances that the bands is still great are almost as funny as the problems the band is experiencing, but in reality they are a long way from the moderate success they once had.
The songs in the music are not only very funny, but are usually pretty good.
Highly recommend!!! One of the 10 best comedies of all time. Along with Fletch, Animal House, Stripes, Vacation and Airplane.
Silver Streak (1976)
One of the Best Movies Ever
The movies has it all action, mystery, romance, suspense and comedy. The great plot and romance build from the start, with the majority of the action and comedy coming later in the movie. The movie goes from a very good story to a great movie when Richard Pryor appears a little past the halfway point. This is Pryor and Wilder's greatest movie together. The shoe polish and the getaway scene (in the police car) are some of the funniest in movie history. Silver Streak "the movie" like the train, builds up steam from the start and never stops rolling throughout until it is all released at the end.
Dude, Where's My Car? (2000)
Mid movie change
Starts out as a somewhat funny light movie with the idea that something funny and realistic has happened to his car. But midway through it gets pretty stupid and very unrealistic. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure works much better, because you know the level of fantasy involved in the movie and its stays pretty constant throughout.
The Crew (1994)
Still Waiting for Something to Happen
From the start of the movie it seemed as though something exciting was going to happen and then just as you completely lost interest in the bad script and bad acting (especially the actor who plays Phil)the "Crew" saves 2 people from a burning boat. From that point you are supposed to like the crew and hate the 2 people and then later on feel sorry for and like the 2 people and hate Phil. That is what is supposed to happen, but I found myself not carng about any of them or the little plot twists that were being thrown at me, as I waited for a big finish, because I assumed sometihng had to happen. Well I learned that just because not much happened during the movie doesn't mean sometihng will happen at the end. The only sub plot this movie comes close to following through with is the Tim and George sub plot and that never amounts to much.
