Committed (2000)
Fun and sweet
Once the slow beginning gets underway, the film kicks off and really becomes quite a lot of fun in many unexpected ways. The ensemble cast is really good, with Heather Graham perhaps being the weakest of them. Casey Affleck as her brother is really good and extremely likeable , if you catch my drift.
I highly recommend the film if you just want to have to good hours. Teenagers should really enjoy this film - it says a lot about relationships.
East Is East (1999)
So much fun!
This film is a riot! I think the guy who plays Tarek is really well known in England but I had never seen him - he's Hot! I bet you he's going to become well known here as well.
Anyway, the film was well constructed, touching and moved along swiftly. The acting was top notch all around - really- and it was completely realistic in terms of how families are portrayed. There were some parts of the film that got really serious and were very sad and touching but altogether it was a fantastic film. Very touching.
Diamonds (1999)
Very enjoyable
I had the chance of seeing this at an advance screening my friend was invited to & I thought it was a very beautiufl, warm and funny film. Seeing Kirk Douglas is amazing & its absolutley wonderful to see him acting at his age. I know this is unusual but I really enjoy seeing older people on screen and we hardly ever get the chance to. Anyway, I'm not sure when this opens but go see it.
Oh! Also, Corbin Allred -the young kid- is very hot & a great actor. I'm not just fixated on older people!
In Too Deep (1999)
Good fun
This is a good, well constructed action film which involves an all black cast that is more than worth seeing. Actually, Stanley Tucci is in this - but he is always a pleasure to see. Omar Epps is the lead and shows a lot of promise, as a "ghetto" undercover cop who gets a little too entangled with his job.
I have to say, LL Cool J is the best. It is a pleasure to see this man acting. He is scary as hell in this movie.
I highly recommend it.
