Lost Horizon (1973)
TERRIFIC Sir John Geilgud + George Kennedy ... SHANGRI-LA here I come!
Just a few movies stand out in your mind ... for over a quarter of a century... THIS movie adaptation is definitely one!! 1973's color musical adds a GREAT DIMENSION to Hilton's utopian work (even though Michael York was the pits!).
The original "Lost Horizon" is in my personal collection, and the 1973 issue also belongs in my top 10 list, along with "Gone With The Wind", "Coming Home", "S.T.: The Wrath of Khan", "Day The Earth Stood Still", "Sound of Music", "Soylent Green", "Dirty Dancing", "Shirley Valentine" and "What About Bob".
Almost an Angel (1990)
Hogan is a HERO! to folks with disabilities.
Paul Hogan (in ... Angel) has to rate just a tad higher than Jon Voight (in Coming Home) and that says a lot about a Stars ability to credibly emote and indulge in meaning-full social intercourse.
Folks with disabilities want to be treated just like ... folks. Period! And Hogan's scene in the pub where he was going to "fight" the paraplegic was so totally incredible!
Why am I so enthusiastic about this film? I have lived with a disability since 1949, and used a wheelchair since 1957.
Love to contact Hogan and have him "Chat" about his take on disability ... in the real. I'm sure he'd come across just like a HERO!
Just a Little Inconvenience (1977)
James Stacy was great! Lee also.
Living with a disability can be challenging; it's great to see REAL people with disabilities, like JAMES STACY, playing people with disabilities.
Social interactions between able bodies and disabled persons can also be challenging ... Lee Majors was a very credible spark with Stacy.
Why am I so enthusiastic about this movie? I have lived with a disability since 1949 - used a wheelchair since 1957. Love to get a copy of this video... can YOU HELP?
