The Plagiarist (2019)
a James Popplewell
Maybe, not the best. But nice. And good opportunity to meet a soft Popplewell, using a spring mixture of flavors and cinnamon and honey. Great cat. And a story like a large puzzle. More important than compare it with the other pieces from the filmography it is to enjoy it. Only enjoy. Because, without be great, it is a honest film. And this is not a small virtue. It represents the occasion to see great actors making a fine job. And, not the last, an ironic view about the contemporary sins is always an useful choice. So, a James Popplewell. Special. Refreshing. And seductive but not using the classic recipes.
Knight of Cups (2015)
Enjoyable for 5 minutes
Christian Bale in random expensive places. With random expensive people. Having some random thoughts. Some random lines. And some random classical music. Feels like spending time on an airport waiting for the two hours delayed departure. Or like browsing Instagram for two hours.
What's the point? Is there some kind of Fellini-ambition?
Movie 43 (2013)
Most underrated movie
I laughed, not only at the movie but also at some of the reviewers here. As one reviewer wrote: "How funny is it when Jackman accidentally gets pubic hair in his soup, and puts his neck-scrotum on a baby's forehead?" If you don't get it, this movie is not for you. Obviously, because the rating is only 4.4, a lot of people don't appreciate tasteless humor. But don't be fooled, this is a really good tasteless movie. It reminds of a celebrity roast, where they dare to push the limits of decency for a laugh. Considering the amount of big names in this movie, compared to the limited budget, they did it more for fun than for the money. Thanks!
Save the Last Dance (2001)
What a boring piece of crap
3480 IMDb users gave this movie an average vote of 6.2! What? Is it a joke? This movie should belong to the bottom 100. I don't get it. Who enjoys watching a pretentious no brain movie with stereotype characters and predictable cliché plot? For almost two hours I struggled not to fastforward or just push the stop button. I have seen so many great movies lately (such as Fight Club, Gladiator, Memento, Snatch) so the only good thing about Save the Last Dance was to give me some perspective about the good movies from the bottom. I pity the people involved in this movie... and the audience.
