Billy Bathgate (1991)
Not a great gangster movie, but better than average.
The film never really builds up to much, save some surprisingly violent scenes. With only two actors really showing off any skill (Buscemi and Hoffman) the film often seems a bit cardboard like. As for the 'abrupt' ending, there isn't really one, although the ending does seem a bit crappy as Bill Bathgate couldn't be so lucky that he manages to a: walk out just before the shootout. b: have $17,000 given to him just before he got grabbed. Lucky man my ass, if this is a true story.
Nemesis (1992)
A bit smelly, but then again, a little bit good......
Nemesis is a fairly exciting sci-fi movie, let down by the fact that it didn't have too good a budget, and the film is too short. The ending is fairly reminiscent of another underrated sci-fi flick, The Arrival (starring Charlie Sheen. Get it NOW). This could be because the Nemesis franchise was stretched to five films, but Nebula (number 2) doesn't really continue this story, more this world. The film features some impressive action sequences, especially the start of the film which is similar to Desperado (with Antonio ( Mr dodgy assassin) Banderas)
Starchaser: The Legend of Orin (1985)
Star Wars copy, but a great one at that.
Starchaser is a quality cartoon version of Star Wars, right down to the 'camp' droids. I do feel that it should have got a higher age rating as the film does become very violent at the start. The special effects in this film are wicked, and quite a lot happens, so I rate this as a well worthy film. Try and find a copy now.
