The Vicar of Dibley (1994)
An absolute delight!
The Brits have a flare for comedy that is unmatched and it is exhibited strongly in Vicar of Dibley. You'll find yourself laughing until tears roll down your cheeks.
A Bug's Life (1998)
Delightful!!
An absolutely delightful film. The visuals will entertain the children while the one-liners and puns keep the adults holding their sides. Be sure to sit through the end credits; there's a few surprises hidden there.
The Legend of Hell House (1973)
This one will leave you afraid to turn off the lights.
I first saw this movie when I was 13 and I have seen it many times since. The terror does not lessen with multiple viewings. Even as an adult it leaves me unnerved. There is very little gore. The frights play on everyone's fear of the unknown and the unseen.
The Milagro Beanfield War (1988)
Quite possibly, the perfect movie.
TMBW is a delightful study of a group of small town people who have never had to face a radical change in their entire lives. When a series of quirky events yanks them out if their sleepy existence the results are sometimes comical, sometimes poignant but always endearing. By the end of the movie you want to hug each and every character.
