Mimic (1997)
Can't help having this feeling of deja-vu
Yes, mimic is undeniably a great movie for its genre but nothing new is offered here : something creates monster, monster destroys people, people out to kill monster... There are some interesting twists that keep you going but the concept is getting a little old.
Soldier (1998)
Kurt Russell's acting makes this movie unmissable
Although Russell barely speaks in this movie, his expressions are unlike anything ever seen before. Great sci-fi actioner. You won't be disappointed.
La révolution française (1989)
Very nice historical movie.
Although I was forced to watch this one, I quite liked it; it was surprisingly good. The cast was well chosen with the likes of Sam Neill and Jane Seymour. A good movie, a bit long, but still entertaining. The best French Revolution movie to date.
The Negotiator (1998)
Intelligent twists, ingenious script.
Very nice. If you're looking for a very nice time-passing movie, then this one's for you. No major flaws, great cast(Spacey being one of my personal favourites after I watched The Usual Suspects). Humour is provided too especially by Paul Giamatti playing one of Jackson's hostages, Rudy. I liked it a lot.
Lost in Space (1998)
GODDAM! SFX SFX SFX SFX SFX SFX!!!!!! But where's the rest?
This movie has the most astonishing special effects to date. Sfx-wise, it trashes movies like Godzilla, Armaggedon, Blade... But where the hell is the plot? The humour? The suspense? Lost in space too, I guess... Disappointing but is still quite fun to watch...
Blade (1998)
Great! Go watch it!
Forget all these people who tell you this movie sucks. Go and watch this movie now! Terrific action scenes! Astonishing acting delivered by Snipes and especially Dorff! Great music! And you can expect much more of this movie! Easily on the top of my list.
Event Horizon (1997)
What a thriller!
I watched this movie knowing I was gonna get scared . I did. And believe me, you will too. A superb horror sci-fi adventure that'll never get out of your head. Especially that one line I'll never forget : "Hell is just a word, reality is much much worse."
Murder at 1600 (1997)
Not bad but not great either.
This movie is definitively not in the best movie list but it still features a nice plot. I don't think there is any part of this movie that we can qualify as "thriller" but there's still something that captivates you. Fair : 6/10
A Perfect Murder (1998)
Great thriller due to great acting.
The acting in this movie is one of the best I've ever seen. Michael Douglas' amazing performance (as usual), Gwyneth Paltrow's great acting make this thriller a must-see. Viggo Mortensen isn't bad at all either.
