Executive Power (1997)
Awful....Awful....Awful...
The banner says it all, this is one really bad movie, which is sad because I normally like Sheffer, and I have been impressed with Andrea Roth in other roles. This, however, is terrible. I wont waste any more time...its just that bad.
200 Cigarettes (1999)
How could anyone say this movie is great???
I've been reading down the reviews and I am completely surprised by what other people have said. It apparently is a movie you either love or hate--no in between.
I hated this movie, I almost got up and left early. It could have and should have been good. Contrary to what some people have said, I like pretty much everyone in the cast...except for this movie. The movie is aimless, and does play out like a Robert Altman film-except his films are normally good, whereas this one is not. I can't even remember laughing out loud once. Maybe a giggle, but not much laughing. As a matter of fact, no one in the theatre laughed.
It is a tremendous waste of time, but so is Can't Hardly Wait, The Faculty, and other "take advantage of the popular teen idols and put them in mindless movies that kids will like because it's cool" movies. i.e. Varsity Blues, Disturbing Behavior (And I love Katie Holmes!!)
And gee, I can't wait for Never Been Kissed..."I'm disco Barbie" Can't they bump up "The Phantom Menace" for those of us who want to see intelligent acting and good storylines?
Office Space (1999)
The soundtrack and Jennifer Aniston looking great are all that saves this movie!
Pathetic is the word that comes to mind for this movie. The weird part is, I liked some of the performances, but the movie as a whole was awful. The soundtrack is good, Jennifer Aniston looks great but doesn't have much to do with the movie, it could have been much, much better than this. A few laughs, but not enough to pull it over a 5 for me.
Zero Effect (1998)
Bill Pullman's best work to date!
A fun and different plot with a great cast equals a terrific movie. Bill Pullman and Ben Stiller are a great pair with good chemistry and Kim Dickens gives a great performance as the heroine/bad girl.
Hardbodies (1984)
Hardbodies is the typical 80's movie
This was never intended to be a great, Oscar worthy movie. The reason I liked it so much is that it reminds me of my high school years, the way we talked, the slang, and the fact that the 80's were the greatest decade ever! So many movies of that time (Valley Girl, etc...) were almost like a record of the times we lived in and for that reason, they are worth keeping.
Kicking and Screaming (1995)
A must see for recent college grads!
Definitely my favorite movie of all time. A very funny, intelligent and sarcastic film. Well acted especially by Chris Eigeman and Josh Hamilton. Makes me, as a twenty something not sure of what to do, feel like someone knows how I feel!
Clerks (1994)
Clerks is one of the funniest movies I've ever see...
Clerks is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, and Kevin Smith is a genius. I also cannot wait for Dogma!!
