Not bad enough to avoid, not good enough to look for
2 September 2021
Great premise, great cast, amateur writing and directing, those feel far short of the potential of what it should have been. Its not bad enough to avoid, not good enough to look for.

Redefines the word boring.
24 December 2020
A slow, slow movie. I think it was trying to be deep, but it missed the mark, the target, and even the wall. It is just really boring. I kept hoping it was going somewhere, but it didn't. I won't talk about all the things that did not make sense, because the biggest hurdle is the movie is just plain dull.

The 100: Blood Giant (2020)
Season 7, Episode 13
2/10
Stop the show here, re-shoot the last 4 episodes and get it right.
11 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Clark killing Bellamy ruined an otherwise excellent episode, and maybe the entire season. These two have been there for each other, through ups and downs, sins and ugly moments, They have made hard choices together, saved each other and believed in each other no matter what. In season 6 it was Bellamy that discovered Clark was not gone, and, well i could go on and on. These two trusted and needed each other. No way would Clark have killed him. Shot him maybe, just to get the book, but kill him, never. Out of character for her, for the story, for the series. Stop the show here, re-shoot the last 4 episodes and get it right. You owe us that much!

Sasha Luss
11 September 2019
Wow! Sasha Luss is incredibly beautiful. Wanting to be positive in spirit, that's about the only good thing I can say about the movie. Oh wait she dresses great, whoever was in charge of that did a great job, so that's two good things. And her hair almost always looked perfect, hey I'm up to three good things. Now if I was to write about everything wrong with the movie, that would take days to do properly, and the movie is not worth the time for that.

Dark Movie
8 February 2019
What I mean is almost everything is filmed in a dark setting. I guiltily admit that i enjoyed greatly all the other Resident Evil Movies, and in those you can clearly see what is going on. I love watching Milla Jovovich fight and kill zombies, she is so cool and hot doing that, when you can see her doing it clearly. I am not sure if they did not have the budget to have the lights turned on and make the action and CGI clear and believable or what in this last movie of the series, but watching this movie for me resulted only in eye strain and frustration trying to see what was going on.

In my opinion this is a sad and dismal final to a series of movies that I enjoyed and still enjoy watching at least once a year, well except for this one. Disappointing way to close the series.

I thought I was going to see a Pacific Rim Movie
6 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I bought a ticket for Pacific Rim: Uprising, and the title above the theater entrance said it was Pacific Rim: Uprising, but what showed on the big screen was a Transformer movie. Robots fighting Robots. Can't usually tell which Robot is which. Don't know why the Robots are fighting each other. Annoying human characters. A story that makes no sense and doesn't even try to make sense. In other words, a Transformer movie, except the CGI was not as good as a Transformer movie.

And for the first time watching a movie, no one told the person playing with their phone to stop.

Katniss plays a boring version of the hunger games
2 March 2018
If you thought what the Hunger Games was missing was seeing Katniss partially naked, being raped, smoking, cursing, having no emotions, and not doing anything exciting, this is the movie you have been waiting for.

Now the bad guys are the Russian, and they force Katniss to join their games with lots of other kids, with the promise if they do a bad job they will be killed. She can not trust anyone, it seems to win the game you have to betray others so they will be killed.

I can not tell you how it ends, I left with 20 minutes or so left. I was so bored I was falling asleep and as I snore I thought it best to leave. I noticed a few people nodding off as I was leaving. Unlike other movie visits, about half way through people stared turning on and looking at their phones, and no one complained. I hope Katniss won the games.

Making the world a safer place ????
6 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler alert.

I read the book that this movie is from and enjoyed it quite a bit. Full Disclosure: I agree, personally, with the belief that the internet is being used to capture and distribute too much information on our personal lives, destroying all notion of privacy. The recent actions by Congress have taken this loss of privacy a step further by scrapping the Internet Privacy Law.

The problem with the movie for me is after watching it, I did not come away with the feeling that total openness was wrong, but just the opposite, the benefits outweighed the detriments. The movie seemed to prove that internet openness was a good thing, allowing killers on the loose to be captured, easily and quickly, Government back room deals to be monitored, and making voting easy and quick, allowing everyone to vote.

The main negative in the movie was the death of Mercer, but even here, he was portrayed badly. Seeing on the screen one of his antler creations, it seems it was a decoration a serial killer would make. And his denial of killing to get the antlers seemed false, had to get them somewhere. So while his death was sad, the movie did not make him sympathetic at all. I was wondering as he was running away, why he simply not call the police and have those trespassers arrested, not being freaked out because a stranger appears on his property. Then, by so clearly showing how his death could be the motivation needed to make driving safer for all turned the event into a positive.

Another point, earlier in the movie Mae seems upset by the idea of chips being implanted in children, but the negatives of this are never explored and, in fact, it is clearly explained why this is a good thing. What parent would not want their children to have this safety measure? Even the medical bracelet, wow, as explained in the movie, if this thing could really catch diseases early on and prevent them, sign me up.

Now Annie, at the end of the movie why was she acting so weird, it seemed from the movie she was just overworked. What young executive on a fast track is not? Her finally going against the company came across as just being ungrateful.

Ty, why was he so against the company? This was never clearly explored either. The movie explains that he is being paid to do whatever he wants, wherever he wants.

Mae walking around with a camera on 24 hours a day is odd, but we learn later in the movie she can turn it off when she wants to, as when she went off the grid after Mercer died, so having it on was her choice, one she could change as she wanted to.

Finally, the parents in the bedroom. Gross yes, but my first thought was why in the world would Mae put a camera in her parent's bedroom? What did she think people would see? That was not technology's fault but Mae making a terrible decision.

I did not address that is not really a thriller at all, but an exploration of possible uses for technology. Would not little cameras around the world make everything safer? Would we not feel better knowing every police stop was recorded. That all areas outside of schools had this protection? For me, as a call to arms over the abuse of technology the movie failed and instead demonstrated how useful this technology would be. As a thriller or mystery, well there was no thrill or mystery.

Oh No
2 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I was interested in this when I first read about it, and I enjoy films along this line, I really enjoyed Legion, giving it a high score, so if anything I am biased in favor of this genre. But oh my goodness! After a fairly interesting start, it went down hill fast. The acting went from OK, to by episode 2, just wooden. But, I can't blame the actors for that really, how could they ever make this dialog sound believable?

The dialog.

Okay, sweetie, you want to play a little game, okay? You mean, I'm not going crazy? Something's really happening here, am I right? God is angry, so he's giving us a test. I am so not down with that. Well, you'd better be, because this is prophecy we're talking about.

and it goes downhill from that.

The Messengers are running around doing who knows what, none of which has anything to do with their mission. There are flash backs to things that don't add to the story, just to add time and stretch out the episode I think. The Devil stands around looking evil and not doing much of anything.

Sorry to say, I don't see this going anywhere.

I tried to watch it
31 March 2015
The information I had before trying to watch this sounded good, sounded like it would be quite interesting. Unfortunately the program itself was amazingly boring. I admit, I did not watch the entire show, I gave up watching after 25 minutes. I would have quit sooner but I was hoping it would find some energy and take off.

Every scene just plodded along, the times when there should have been the strongest of emotions, there were just frozen masks of indifference. As most, at times, a slight knowing smile, or a little frown of anger (I think that is what it was).

Maybe it got better later on in the show, I just could not hang on anymore. It should have been a great story, I think, but not told and represented this way.

I doubt too many people will find this interesting enough to watch all the way through.

Scorpion (2014–2018)

You mean TV action shows are supposed to be real?
16 December 2014
I have read a few of the reviews, all seem upset because the characters to do things impossible in the real world. I guess if that is the requirement for TV action series, we best not watch the Flash, another great show. I can't give up Justified, I like it the way it is, even though it does require my suspension of disbelief.

I read one review that made a statement that CSI was real, come on Crime Scene techs, interviewing witnesses, getting into gun battles? I am not down on that show; it goes for the same thing as Scorpion, interesting people doing the impossible and being fun to watch.

For me, the characters are the thing, they are likable, we get to know them and their issues, they are fun to watch as they interact and make mistakes, and yes, do things that could never really happen.

I like myth busters as much as anybody, (well, I did until they got rid of my favorite people on the show), but these shows are not meant to be real, just fun, with enjoyable and watchable characters, and here it succeeds. So Scorpion, Flash and Justified; I will have to be happy watching cool, likable people, doing the impossible.

I like this show just the way it is.

Bunheads: Movie Truck (2012)
Season 1, Episode 6
Worst episode (yet) of a promising series
24 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoy the new Gilmore girls with dancing. The premise is interesting, and the dancing is good. But this episode Emily/Fanny literately just phoned in her part, and the rest of it – except for the dance in the last two minutes, went nowhere, said nothing and had no point. Michelle/Lorelai's first time teaching could have been used creatively in so many ways, mostly in her finding her path to a new satisfying life. But it was just skipped right over. Why? Why not use it to build her character and all the relationships? Now if they do explore that later on it will be out of place.

Overall a very disappointing episode for a series I normally look forward to.

Blade was always "bad" now through he has transcended that, he has moved into……….. AWFUL
9 January 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I saw blade Friday night. Well Blade was always "bad" now through he has transcended that, he has moved right into……….. AWFUL.

If you don't want to know what happens delete this now, well nothing actually happens, but telling you will not make it any better.

The movie starts well, the first 10 minutes are cool, a fight scene, but it is downhill from there. Actually the first line of the movie is about how movies about vampires are all stupid, boy did they get that right. The story makes no sense, WS during many parts of the movie just looks like he does not want to be there at all. Did I say the story was stupid, actually it is worse. The Vampire girls are UGLY and the vampires are all stupid and can not fight at all. They have some wrestler playing a vampire, in real life he could beat up anybody, but as a super strong vampire, he can beat on a weak human with all his might for 5 minutes and not do any damage and then get beat up by the skinny human. Except in the movie I think he was supposed to be beating on the human for hours. Stupid. The Dracula plot makes no sense and does not add anything, and goes no where. The dig him up to kill Blade, except he doesn't do anything, except show up every now and again. They have Dracula be able to change into anyone he wants (why, how who knows) and it is never used to any purpose at all. Every time he does it people see right through it. Oh they kill Dracula by inventing some virus that will kill all vampires, except guess what at the end of the movie (2 minutes later) they say Blade is still out there on the hunt cause the hunt never ends, blah blah blah. OK but the purpose of the virus was to kill all vampires, we see it doing that, so????? They have a girl shooting arrows instead of guns cause she looks cool, OK well I can go with that.

They have a new weapon (only used twice) that makes a beam "half as hot as the sun" OK but the sun is pretty hot, right, even half as hot as the sun would not the beam melt everything, especially the person who was holding it.

Somehow we go from Blade being the big bad vampire killer on his own to lots and lots for small vampire hunter groups out there that Blade has never heard of?? And Whistlers daughter is a member of them, and Whistler visited her, but he never told Blade about these other groups. Oh, they kill Whistler in the first 12 minutes, just so (I think) Dracula can show up as Whistler later (for about 30 seconds), except the guy who sees him says "hey you are dead" and knows it is Dracula.

I was so sad

Sylvester's worst showing ever
3 February 2002
I am a big fan of Stallone's, I also enjoy Kris Kristofferson (he was great in Blade) and Tom Berenger is usually very good (I loved his work in Last of the Dogmen). But this thing was bad. The acting was lousy, either the direction was way off, or the actors realized just what a bad script they had. The plot was laughable, as was the dialogue.

Who knows what salaries cost the production, but the rest of the film was cheap in every aspect.

This move has absolutely nothing to recommend it. I went in, as always, routing for Sly, but I have to say, miss this at the movies, on tape, dvd, and TV.

Please Sly come back.

Ken
