I'm really struggling with this one. Well none of the episodes have been easy since we got a little bunch of ok ones from eps 3-5, but this is just beyond bearable.
So now they've got 2 camera coverage for their little home movies, for who exactly? They're spending all their time and energy on this when there are very pressing things to be addressed. Also you need electricity to play these things and to get that you need a generator, which is kind of a rare and special item in the post zombie world. And the rest of the group seem to have mass madness and go along with it?
I think we've all been quite forgiving to this series because we want it to be good. we like some of the characters and there's no reason it shouldn't be at least 45 mins of entertaining head candy, but this, this is like a science experiment to see how much you can insult an audience and get away with it.
Next week is the series final and it couldn't come too soon. I think I'm out.
*****Updated. - I had to stop watching after 20 mins. it was just so irritating to see good characters given cardboard lines to deliver for a nonsensical story.
With fresh eyes I gave it another go this morning and, it was just as bad.
The bridge scene was utterly nonsensical. I feel sorry for the actors forced to deliver that stupid stupid storyline. The bridge's suspension wires are snapping, why exactly? And they're busy trying to mend a hole by nailing in some convenient boards that Alyssa happened to spot in the middle of nowhere.
Don't move the truck, it'll collapse the bridge,..... If the suspension wires are snapping cos of the weight that's probably the only move you should be making.
so they abandon all their vehicles, instead of pooling the remaining gas into one or 2 vehicles (the swat truck which previously had never run out).
Send someone ahead in one vehicle? it's only 15 miles. how bout a bike?
Seasoned zombie apocalypse survivors acting like this is their first rodeo.
As others mentioned the stupid stand off with cowboy girl with her 2 henchmen against a team with a swat truck. wtf???
It's not just bad writing, it's idiotic and it's offensive to the actors, and to us to watch them have to deliver it.
The terrible new guy "Tom" removes himself from the equation but they manage to save his camera and we've got time to view the footage and edit it in.
There's a scene after the bridge where they each take turns to deliver an open conversation on their situation and what next. One line each and on to the next character. Man that was just so insulting to them all. Terrible terrible writing, cheesy cliche lines (there were plenty of them in this episode) and, it just made me feel depressed.
Poor old Strand and Dorie forced to give it their all (and the actors did give it their best and deserve so much better than this).
This time Strand got the best of a bad bunch where he asked ginny what she was offering. She doesn't make any sense at all though. Strand also gets an ok scene after everyone sums up their situation. But it really didn't help the unpleasant experience of watching these good actors (not Tom, he was terrible), give it a good team effort on a sinking ship of a story.
