The script had more moments of Siveth talking to herself.
According to screenwriter Matthew Feitshans, Siveth converted to vegetarianism since eating the local wildlife outside her cave would have left her with no one to talk to, and the animals wouldn't have gone near her if she kept eating them.
Revenge-themed Western/road movies inspired the film's structure, with the main characters pursuing nameless and lawless killers across the land.
The film's events (counting its flashbacks) span roughly 35 years, starting before the previous movie and ending after it. So, the events of Dragonheart: Battle for the Heartfire (2017) happen in the background during a portion of this film.
Actresses with the Dame title were initially considered to voice Siveth to keep some consistency with knights voicing the dragons in the previous movies (expect Robby Benson). However, Helena Bonham Carter was still always a top choice.
