A young aimless boy seeks revenge on the man he deems to have killed his father. While stalking him, he become fixated on the man's young daughter. The film often feels as aimless as its central character... and it makes the cardinal sin of under-utilizing the best actress in the world right now -- Zhou Dongyu.

On the Balcony

Interested in the movie because of Zhou and an interesting trailer, but On the Balcony is just a really boring movie without any focus. What is the story being told? What is the character development? Both seems hazy at best, in the end making the film feel like a pointless product. An interesting setting and one that should be personal to me, but it just fails to tell anything of significance, not on character relationship and not at all any societal problems. So much of the film is fixated on the lead actor, but his inexperience shows and the character is by itself not a like able one. There are some pretty scenes but that's about the only positive thing I can say about It.
