The atmosphere is the main virtue of this special adaptation. Special because you feel it as a contemporary of it. The family life and the political discussions, the tension, the vulnerability of a respected rabin, the need of affection of a not so young woman and, more important, the admirable performance of Anthony Boyle are virtues of this episode. And the end, it is the precise warning for present.

Love the step back in time, especially in the pandemic. HBO still ticks me off with its requisite "f" word insertion. For the life of me, I can't figure why the rabbi so adeptly played by John Turturro has a distinct southern accent! It's not like Jewish people come mainly from the south, but hey it's ok.
